Some cool footage. I could see this at winter X Games in the near future. Looks like they are finally are getting the tech dialed in on these bikes. Might have to give it a try.. I thought that the 4 stroke would be rev'd out all the time, but after watching this video, appears to move well in the trees and deep with mid throttle. Also landing in the deep stuff, you would think the front would tuck, but these guys shows that's not the case.

Any vital memeber own a sled bike? Heard you can try them out in Idaho..

Some observations:

Looks mega fun!

Appears to be a clutch and/or engine killer. Sounds like they are riding in a never ending mud hole.

Watch out for avalanches!

here in canada there are guys building turbo charged 450s with 100 hp. about 23000 for bike , kit, turbo. honestly doesnt lookm that fun and those bikes sound like they are workin real hard, if ur gettin 150 hrs ona 450 in the dirt i dont think you would get half that with that load. 100 hp would be cool. might be some you tube on that??

the guys with 100 hp are the same dudes with 400hp sleds. the market here in oil rich alberta is huge for that. lots of 30 k $$$ sleds around here

Timbersled Kits are the best way to go. The bike in the video sounds a little funny as they typically cut the bottom part of the airbox off and run snow screen material instead of a foam filter...lots more intake noise... The airbox just fills up with snow and kills power otherwise.

I went with a friend who is a Timbersled dealer.

Observations; you want powder, I went on an average day, no new snow, icy and overall not the conditions you "want".

The whole concept of a ski and track is really odd. The dynamics of a motorcycle that we're used to, get thrown out the window. Overall, it was fun, but weird!

We rode 2 2013 KTM 450's and they're underpowered on the mountain. 500 2 stroke with a turbo might be interesting...
