It sucks for Blake, it also puts a damper on an otherwise great ride that Sipes had going.

Before this gets out of hand, I was frusterated when he did it too. After watching the replay, just accept that it was a RACING ACCIDENT, and to move on. Ryan Sipes ran it in deep and Blake didn't see Sipes there until he was already into his side. Don't make an arguement of it. Nobody's fault.

So where did you think Wharton should have gone? The cement floor? Not a "RACING ACCIDENT" it was BS! And it WAS Sipes fault.

Looked to me that Wharton cut in and Sipes was drifting out, It didn't look intentional to me. I just think it was a dumb move on both parties.

Looked like it was Whartons fault, he should have held his line on the outside. Feel bad for Sipes he should have had a podium.

Someone call the Waaaambulance! Seriously?! It's racing. Let's see how much you like it when they turn laps and try their best not to touch one another. I'm so glad I grew up watching guys beat the heck out of each other on the track and love it. You didn't hear those guys, and definitely not the fans, whining about it. Sipes was probably the fastest guy out there. I wish he would have got a better start.

Ryan followed Blake around for 12 laps. The track was one lined. He got aggressive to try and get by him for the podium. Far from a chicken shit move. Aggressive? Yes. Could have been worse for both.

Sipes ran it in hard on Blake thinking that Wharton would back off.......he didn't.
Sucks the way things worked out but that was just hard nose racing.

People were going inside and outside and cutting people off in that section all night. Aggressive? Yes! Dirty, no. Sipes was drifting out to block, but by no means did he try to bang Wharton off the track. There was room for Wharton to get over, but he held his line and so did Sipes. I bet Ralph and Jeff wouldn't have hated on Hanson or Barcia nearly as hard as they did on Sipes had they been in such an incident.

Managers tower reported ryan went inside and wharton went outside to square up, wharton should of slowed ..................... Just saying

while i dont think sipes tried to take wharton out, he did come in too hot. there was no reason to do that to someone coming up to a triple takeoff. lucky it didnt happen any closer or someone was going flying.

I don't believe it was dirty OR good hard racing--it was just a not very well thought out move--nothing good came from it.

You have to have a wheel in front of the guy if you expect him to shut off...they have to know they will run into your back wheel or back of the bike; that's good hard racing.
Giving another rider the option of shutting off or being center-punched is not a smart move or good racing...and that is basically what Sipes did, and his (and Wharton's) race was ruined because of that.

The whole deal is a shame because both had good rides up to that point.

I love how you guys are trying to say Sipes move was "chicken shit" when he is the move "polite' rider out there when it comes to passing.

Sipes perspective: Going to run it onto the inside and block Blake's line so he can't do the triple.
End result: Sipes blocked Wharton's line and unfortunately Blake wasn't able to get his foot on the brake before they made contact.
Hint: Remember it was a right hand corner and Blake didn't have his foot on his peg to get on the brakes.

That was an aggressive move, but as hard as it was to pass, it was necessary.

Oh, so you're a mod now?

I love how you try so hard to act grown up and responsible; playing supercross reporter right after dogging on your friend because she had to go to the hospital instead of giving you a ride. You seriously dumb down this place.

You never know how to read this place. If a rider isn't aggressive, then they are a pussy. If they are aggressive, then they are chickenshits.

No win situation.

When did MX become full of pussies? It's part of racing. Sipes is one of the cleanest riders out there and he makes an aggressive move for once and now he is a chicken shit? I really hope you didn't watch Bob Hannah back in the day because he would probably make you cry.

crap move by sipes. You're not taking somebodies line when you hit them in the foot! Whats even more ridiculous is the sipes interview on transworld where he says he doesn't know what wharton was thinking. Sipes, dude, it was a bonehead move on your part. Own it and move on. Wasn't upset by it until i heard that interview, now i'm not a fan. But when he is up there racing with barcia he will get his

I'm not sure, but I think the reason Blake didn't see it come is because he was about 10 feet away from hitting the face of the triple. Emig pretty much said it best.

Its racing. Sipes isn't a dirty rider. All the talk of chicken sh$$s and dirty riders is old honestly. Its racing. If you don't want someone to take you out, go faster so they can't catch you. The people who are complaining would not have been able to even watch SX from the 90s and earlier.
