Its a long shot and im sure there will be the usual Stewart knockers on here saying rules are rules and I agree there should be a punishment or a fine, but there has got to be a clear penalty and not just whatever they come up with. Its unfair and I think the majority of the moto industry knows it.

Every single failed drugs test is going to have different circumstances behind it and as such it's pretty hard to have a set of written rules to determine the punishment. There are too many variables.

The phrase "Sending a message" comes to mind. Unfortunate for James, but he and his camp knew, or should have known the rules. They gambled and lost, now deal with the consequences.

Riders alone cant file the TUE so we cant point it just at Stewart.

If the riders laugh at vitards why would a sanctioning body take any of you serious?

In order for them to consider this fair, I would have to guess if someone got caught with steroids/blood doping that they would be banned for a decade or life. 16 months for this is stupid (imo).

I don't give a rats ass if professional athletes dope. Can you imagine how much more entertaining it would be if all the NFL players could bench like 900 lbs?! Or MLB players smackin 70 HRs/year again?!

"OR SHOULD HAVE KNOWN THE RULES."

Clearer now? Testing didn't get dropped in their laps the day before it started, it was known about for a while. Plenty of time to consult with a professional ie: lawyer, and get good advice. Failing to do so, a guess on my part, has lead to this current situation.

So you think the punishment fits the crime?
