I miss Motocross and Joey is still mad at me for taking it away from him. I am getting a bike or two for us!

Let me get this thread back on track.

I was looking back through some old pictures and found a few of the Christmas when my son got his JR-50. It was weird, I didn't remember him being that little and riding. I bought myself a bike that year and thus began a rekindling of a passion, and the beginning of another one. I went through the KTM Jr's, the King Cobras, the 65's, the 85's. We quit for a couple of years after a few high-profile incidents of kids being killed on dirt bikes. I couldn't bring myself to put him on the bike.

A couple of years ago, he had kind of lost his way. Nothing major, but his grades started slipping and he was getting into trouble at school, something VERY unusual for him. Plus, he looked miserable. He was 15 then, and one day he started pulling my old 250F out of the shop and riding it around the yard. I saw how happy it made him simply riding around the yard. That Fall, I bought myself an old YZ250 and gave him my 250F. This is a picture from the first day back riding:

It had been a long time since I'd seen that smile. Its been two years since then, and now he's kicking his old man's ass. We don't race, he says he has no desire to go that direction, he just loves riding. He broke his wrist back on November 9th in a crash, and he JUST got released this week. Guess what we're doing this weekend? Riding moto is one of the few things we do together. If you have teenagers, you know that as they get older, the less cool your parents get, and the less time they want to spend with you. He actually wants to go riding with me, its kind of our thing. I wouldn't trade it for the world.

You can never stay away Alp-bro. No matter how many times we get banged up......our brain just filters out all the bad.....and contains the good. I've always said.....the day I die.....5sec's before that I would of had the throttle tapped.

That is one of the very best parts of this sport. Love it. Also welcome back alphado

He's 13 already!

He's also taller than I'll ever be.

13 and looking for a 125? You came to Vital to announce this? He needs a 450, nothing else will do.

Husky TC125 & a TE125 for "asst'd off-roading".

Anything less would be child-abuse.
