No kidding. I just threw away one of those that had 1 ride on it. I didn't realize anyone would actually run that thing. It was hard as a rock.... Cool

I have ran many a mx31 and mx32. Tbh, they aren't that great. The straight-line is great sure, but the lean angle and hold on off camber hard hard pack has always left something to be desired. I'll never forget how bummed I was the first time I was FORCED to buy a geomax tire after riding it( had just removed my last 756). To me the edge knobs pattern is much less aggressive, but to each their own. Can't wait to put this thing to dirt. I have had the old cr250 for 8 years now, so ill know what's what. Just like I know the equilibrium ain't for me ( let's go if u lean over too far, and forget about rolling on the throttle aggressively at lean. Imagine trying to never pass a 45° angle or else......no thanks).

I have fond memories of the 756. You are one lucky dude, I find it hard to believe that any modern tire could be anything but a marginal improvement; the bikes sure haven't changed a lot, 2 strokes at least.

Same here, at least the 756 was decent on all different types of terrain except for super hard pack. I think it was the most "all terrain tire" ever made. Of course this will vary a bit depending on where you live.

Old rubber, protectant or not, will chunk within a few rides. Newer MX3S tire is as good if not better than the 756. Compound and design.

^^ THIS ^^

I like the new MX3S as well. I've had the AT81 front on one of my bikes and it works pretty good too.

If we're going down memory lane with tires, I'll throw the 752 in the mix, it was a great tire (for its time)

I've been a die hard Dunlop guy myself, but the new Bridgestones work pretty damn good. They are heavier, but I couldn't feel any difference.

Really?! What is this nostalgia with older tire designs? SMH. Those 756's were great tires for a two stroke back in the day. If a reputable magazine test was done to compare older with newer and the older tire was the winner...I would then wake up from a deep sleep and laugh loudly. Hey, each to his own. Good luck with that crusty old ass tire.

For off road, try the shinko 505 cheater rear. I have tried the kenda equilibrium and the other trials type tires and hated them. The shinko 505 cheater works awesome on rocks and hard pack....plus it has a true knobby design so you can still get on the gas in a turn. Its my mountain/extremely hard pack race tire. I use an AT81 rear everywhere else and run an MX3S front no matter where I am.

MX52 for me, I find the hard base in TX it pretty brutal on Soft terrain tires. I love how the MX52 hooks up!

This. As soon as they switched it was very apparent. I wont be surprised if it is amazing, and it is going on a two stroke. I feel like the newer tires are optimized for four strokes. Period.

I agree two rides on a mx32 and it's smoked on my 450. Preferred the mx31 those things lasted me forever, but I still preferred the d756. I ride in a mix of hard pack, rocks, and also muddy as snot pine needles. I think that may be why I preferred the 756. This tire is still plenty soft it will be fine I'm sure. For at least one glorious day haha

Man I used to love the 756 rear. I loved it so much, I just HAD to have a 756RR when they came out. I burned through two RR rears and one front in a day at a 125 Schoolboy LL Area. We were so pissed that they chunked so fast. I learned very quickly that great tires don't last lol I had to run Maxxis ITs to finish the weekend off and they were awful on the track we were at! Miss those 2-stroke days lol

I have a new K490 front. Also a set of hardpack Bridgestone M22/23 from like 1988 or something.

At this point I may hang in the garage as a souvenir. I dont ride blue groove garbage tracks anymore.

I ran 490 fronts everywhere.

D756 was my favorite. Had a couple left over from my support rider days and was pumped to mount one up when I got back at it a few years later. It lasted a day and the knobs were tearing off left and right. Sad

Damn I just bought a Michelin starcross that was delivered today and it was manufactured in June 2015. Think I should return it and wait until spring to get a newer made one? The one that I bought a few months ago was made in feb 2016 and won't be mounting this new one until the spring on new wheels.

That is quite normal. The major tire manufacturers recognize any tire produced within the past 5 years as 'new' and warrantable against defects. Does that mean it's still going to perform the same as a 6 month old tire for Moto, no, but a tire made within the past 24 months is going to perform just fine if it was stored in a climate controlled warehouse. I drop ship tires from WPS and TR all of the time and they are rarely ever made in the past 6 months. And that is coming straight from the distributor. It takes a while to get tires from Japan, Brazil, Europe, etc over here and distributed out to dealers. I just ordered a couple X30 Bridgestones to replace my MX3Ss and they were made in the 49th week of 2015...

Except for the fact that the MX3S front tire is the best tire currently produced for a track. Period. Huh Peelout is crazy! Oh yeah, we already knew that... Grinning

I recently had the privilege of getting a tour of one of the factory race shops. When I was looking at an Endurocross race bike I was stunned to see that it had a D756 on the rear. I asked my host what the deal was with that? Apparently Dunlop makes a specialty Endurocross tire with the D756 mold in a really soft compound. It looks exactly like a 20 year old D756 but the rubber is super soft.
