Replied to a thread in the race shop but fingered it'd get more traffic here.

The MX11 and Pirelli 410 are looking good to me. Anyone have any experience with these? I've read things about quick wear, but do they wear quickly if you ride strictly sand?

Riding a super sandy track with some gnarly vicious bumps through it. The 'ol tired 756 isn't cutting it anymore. Looking to pick up a front/rear combo.

What do you guys think?

The MX11 is good in sand. For the love of all things holy do not try to ride it on anything else. I like to run a soft/int in the front.

I run Michelin S12's, they work well in Michigan's dry sand. They get torn up pretty quickly each time I travel to Pittsburgh though, they chunk easily on rocks/roots.

I really like the 410, seems to be holding up really well on the sand tracks that I ride. I have about 4 races on this tire, the square edges are holding up nice, not shown a ton of wear. I would not used this tire on anything but a mud or sand track.
I have 8 hours of race time on this tire, most of my racing is Cross County 1.5 to 2 hours per race and a few moto practices.
This tire is on a YZ125, make sure your rim lock is tight, as it will hook up, you don't want to spin a tube.

I use a Pirelli mid soft 32 front tire for everything, seems to work really well.

Good luck..hope this help. I'm not on the Geomax band wagon, so I can't provide any feed back on the MX11

MX11 works great. Pirelli doesnt last so long. Michelin Starcross sand tire holds up great also.

I just did some research on this myself. After reading quite a few reviews I went with the Michelin Sand 4.

I had 10 hours on ONE Pirelli Scorpion on pure sand tracks. The outline knobbys worns out pretty fast if there is larger rocks on the track. The MX11 tire is shit IMO. Now I run the Goldetyre Tsunami, thread is nearly identical to the Pirelli tire, as good grip and same durability. A bit heavier but half the price.
