Just a thought
But why are the sand sections always so short and small ?
Perhapse at least at some rounds they could make an entire
Lane a sand section , or multiple corners and half a lane
Or something
Sand is fun to watch and could slow them down a little
And add to lap times etc ..

I can't remember the year (maybe 06/07) or track, but it was in the Reed, Carmichael, Stewart 4 stroke days.
There was a track with a huge kicker into a sand roller/whoop straightaway, and those guys were launching into it lap after lap, was awesome to watch.
That would be a cool sand section to replicate again!
The Shop
SX is a different sport than MX, and sand is more of an outdoor thing.
Most of the riders would probably be against this idea (except for the sand experts). It requires different set of skills, not all the SX racers possess, as you can clearly see by the amount of action every time a sand section is included on the track.
I love those and as a fan would definitely like to see more!
The sand section in Phoenix was really good.
Racing was actually pretty good on that stuff
The jump into the sand is cool, and Phoenix made the turn work good
