Over the years we have noticed a few things about motocross. It is a very dangerous sport and it is best to ride with friends or a group. We have seen our share of times when it was great to have people around who could help a downed rider!

We built something that can help this safety issue and its worth a try.

www.CategoryMe.com

1) It allows you to have a basic profile and add "Categories" to your profile like "Motocross" or "BayAreaOTHG" anything you want. Then you can search and connect with those other people in your area who also have the same category or hashtag. All communication is between your friends with the same category. Not all of your friends period like on Facebook. It is specific. (This can help moto friends ride together and help you find more riding friends)

2) Safety Wrist bands - These allow you to have a "Emergency ID Profile" and the number goes onto a silicone wristband or sticker or anything else you like. This allows people to know how to help you incase of emergency. Things such as who to contact, insurance card, blood type, and any problems you might have.

Its just something we thought we would throw out there and see if it helps. The emergency wrist bands are great for kids, desert riders, racers, and simply anyone who wants to make sure people or the medical staff knows who you are and what to do if your down.

Thanks

Guys that cycle have been doing this for years.

Good concept and it does help. Have seen it first hand.

Road Id is the company that does the bracelets for the guys that cycle.

True they are the ones who seem to ride in groups and such. Good point.

We were hoping here that if we combined a form of Social Networking with a safety band then maybe it would become more of the norm rather than something you had to go find one off. This would work well for the cycle groups also or any other sports or just about anything I would guess.
