Here's a nice video i just came across about the training/season of our smx stars. Thought it would be a welcome change in this JS7 off season blues vibe goin' on. Enjoy..

Good to see that a great sport like SMX can count on this much attention around here , guess I'll have to stick to SX related posts and topics Whistling . My God it's time they kick the season off at A1 cause this bitchin' and wining has got to stop.
Let the racing begin Woohoo

Thx Kev472 , but you already knew what a tough sport SMX is. It's even more popular in the Netherlands then in Belgium I think.

We used to race on the same day as the sidecars at British Championships... tracks were brutal , huge ruts , and made tracks totally different ... respect to those boys , they are hard as nails.

Great vid.

I wish I would have trained like that back in the day. Everything that first guy was doing is capable without a gym membership and he was darn fit looking.

I never thought about the fact that there would be 2 narrow ruts in a sidehack race. Very slot carish.

They arent narrow, they are very wide and very deep, and coupled with the Quad championship , the track used to change totally between races, made the first lap interesting ..

In local races held in Belgium they put the sidecar race last in the program because a track that's been ridden by sidecars is very tough to race on with an mx bike. If other races are held after sidecars they usually work the track to keep everyone happy Wink

I use to enjoy watching them as a kid when the would race at the Golden State Nationals in the '80's. I don't know why, but the sidecar class just disappeared and there always seemed to be 10+ in the class.
