I think we all saw this one coming:

Ryan Dungey Earns Ricky Carmichael Hard Charger Award with Dramatic Effort at Rockstar Energy Southwick National

In winning the first 450 Class moto at Southwick's Moto-X 338, defending Lucas Oil AMA Pro Motocross Champion Ryan Dungey had already put in a hard day's work. The Rockstar Energy/Makita Suzuki rider had to hold back not only the late charge of his championship rival Ryan Villopoto, but also the deteriorating elements, as Hurricane Irene was approaching the legendary Massachusetts motocross track. But then an electrical malfunction with the race bike left Dungey's entire team back in the pits scrambling to discover and fix the problem before the start of the second moto. I thought that award was for the rider that advances the most positions between moto one and moto two? Shouldn't bar Ian have won it?

No whoever passes the most riders. There's another award they give out which rewards what you're thinking of

He should get the hard charger award for the next 10yrs after that effort. You are a machine RD you deserve all the RESPECT in the world for keep your head together and putting in a charge like that.

Muscle Milk Recovery Award, Ben Lamay won it, video HERE

Alaska's Ben LaMay wins the Muscle Milk Recovery Award at Southwick's Moto-X 338 track after improving his finish from 23rd in Moto 1 to 12th in the 2nd moto.

Like he deserves it. What for passing a couple of guys. I mean come on, the guy doesn't even start with the rest of the field. What a dick move. I swear this award is a popularity contest.

#kidding of course

Although, shouldn't Goose get it for the way he Charged through the pits to get to Dungey. Heard he almost killed a guy too.

RRenner, you have to actually finish the first moto in order to be in the running for the Muscle Milk Recovery Award, which goes to the athlete who makes the strongest recovery and improvement between motos based on riding performance, not mechanical breakdown. But Barcia's effort was downright impressive on that 450!

We have seen some amazing rides this season...Reed at Millville, Dungey at Southwick.....RV at Red Bud was impressive also.
