Tony grabbed the holeshot, went down on lap 2 and dropped to 5th. Steadily ran down and passed Febrve, Horebeek, Coldenhoff, and Gasjer for the win. Tony is looking fit and hyped.

Good to see him back to full gas, should be a great season with the old guard pushing the youngsters into a corner

Whatever it was that he was missing the last few years he seems to have back and it rules.. Yes I know he's been injured but it seemed like his style was different or something.. but that pass he put on Gajser in the Elite race was incredible and Toni of old!!

Wow he was a beast in that Elite class. Passed everyone straight up. It's definitely not gonna be easy for Herlings....

And the pass on Fevbre!! Reminds me of the pass he done on Searle with a buckled front wheel!!
Welcome back the old Toni! Look out the rest!
I reckon Herlings ain't going to appreciate too many of those passes!
Oh well , all the better for the race fans!

Amazing what injuries do to people! Glad he's back, I think we might get what KTM tried so hard to avoid after all...

He's looking sharp and aggressive again, great! But, still only a pre season race. In two weeks and a half we'll know a lot more.

I love Tony and I'm rooting for him, but this was one of his home races. We shouldn't be getting too excited just yet.

Wait, what are you all discussing? Did the GPs start and I didn't know it? I got my ticket for this season so can go back and watch it all.

Sort of a pre season warm up in the form of individual country championship series.

It's refreshing to see the 125's out there, the result is a steady gradual progression from 85's, 125's, EMX250, MX2...

Well he passed and beat 2 of his 3 main opponents for the title straight up (4 motos in a row).
Pretty good sign at least.

Gajser looked kind of weird

It's hard to say how hard everyone is pushing it in a tune-up like that (and, of course, Herlings wasn't racing), but I will say this much: Last year Cairoli had some wins, but there was NO WAY he was gonna run down Febvre and Gasjer in a straight fight, just no way. In fact, several times it was exactly the opposite.

Now if we throw Herlings, Nagl and Desalle into the mix (maybe even Anstie) ... just what're we gonna have here?

I think it was more the way he was riding and how he looked on the bike that is cause for excitement, than the fact that he won. He looked aggressive and comfortable, more like his old self and that can only be a good thing. I kind of expected him to win there, especially after winning last week, but he looked better than I expected in doing it. Looks like he may have found what he was missing the last 2 years. Let's hope he can carry it into the season

Max has his moments of greatness and if he can keep the bike together and on 2 wheels for a entire MXGP weekend it could be interesting

Just to be able to pivot on the flat like that shows tremendous front traction and how well that bike must be dialed in and the confidence that brings with it. It's not over for Toni yet. he must of got some vitality drink off Reed.

I'm not sure you can compare Cairoli to Reed , Cairoli rode 2015 with a broken hand , finishing 7th after missing 5 of 18 rounds and 2016 he came into the season without any training and carrying a knee injury from the Nation's and still finishing 2nd!
Toni has and still is a championship contender, Reed isn't , nor has he been for sometime ( Moto winner here or there, yes)
PS: I am not trying to take anything away from Reed , he is a great rider .

Hold your horses everyone its a regional race JVH has finished 2nd the majority of the races and a close one at that between 3 and 8 sec behind, Not hating on TC but when your gapping JVH that amount of time you ain't setting the world on fire by any means, Yamaha and HRC boys do not race there factory equipment in regional races where KTM is so don't go all jolly jumper about the last 4 races because they don't mean a thing.

You cant predict anything at this moment and to all of them saying he looked good. I found he looked more aggressive which is a good thing and at moments more out of control than ever so not sure what to think about that actually

I think he wants it more than ever after seeing 2 young guys come in a steal the show for the last 2 seasons.

It will be great for sure, and he is riding awesome. But in his home country, and been a pre season, a lot of the guys ain't going to be hanging it out too much to compete with him. That said, they didn't gift it to him. Let's hope everybody stays healthy and get to the first round at Qatar

Not necessarily, there is another international at Lacapalle Marival also this weekend, so the field will be split in half again. Kind of good I guess, keeps us guessing
