We're heading out from the Tecate Border crossing at 9 a.m.
I'm riding a Husky FE350S & Sunny Garcia will be rockin' a FE501S...both of us will be flying the Rockstar Husqvarna flag.
You can follow the ride and daily vids & posts at Desert Assassins Facebook...the intro vid launches this morning.
Peely, I'll ride a wheelie for ya...
On the Beach!

The Shop
I've done it several times with Jimmy Sones and gang!!!
problem is with a bunch of dudes on 650's and 450's, they like to stretch their legs so 70-75 isn't really going to cut it all the time.

It's a FE350S, the "street bike". It's the one to get since it's just an FE with more. The stock Gearing is 14:45 & I dropped the c/s to a 13; so, it's 13:45.
STOCK CHAIN AND REAR SPROCKET. Over 2000 miles...STILL GOOD! COMPLETELY STOCK ENGINE & CHASSIS. Btw, that means 2000 miles of TOTAL TOTURE.
Mods:
FMF slip on
Guts "Manny" KTM/Husky seat (Superlight Seat Foam, Velcro-System Cover w/ inlay-steps and rear pleats)
ODI "Short" bend Flexbars
ODI Grips
Acerbis 4.1 tank
Removed mirrors
Graphics and Plastic stolen from the original '14 Rockstar-Husky photo bikes & current BTO bikes
Pirelli Xtra-X tires (110/100 & 100/80)
Michelin Bibs
Bel-Ray Lubes and Fluids
KC66, Dragon and OX decals
All prep and service by JR Boyd, Crew-Chief and Test-Set-Up Guru for BTO-KTM.
A SPECIAL SHOUT OUT to Cody Quinn for telling me "what to do" on chassis set-up! (116mm rear sag/forks all the way down in the clamps)
I don't run a Steering Damper. Instead, I make the bike work with a spanner, a flat blade screw driver and miles of trail.
It'll run all the way up to 93 MPH on the lake beds and fast roads. It's plush as a couch in the rocks; yet, it'll still hammer the whoops...HARD! The steering geometry is somewhere between RM250 and Maico 490: it's THAT GOOD!
The Engine? Damn. Those of you that own a 350? You're all a bunch of Shit-Bags! Ya coulda told a Brutha! The Off-Road version of the 350 engine is actually BETTER than a 300 2T. NO SHIT. This is the BEST OFF-ROAD BIKE, out of the crate, that I've ever ridden. EVER. Did I say...EVER? Yes, EVER!
6 gears of Wheelies.
6 gears of shreddin' Whoops.
6 gears of the Rockiest Trails in the Northern Hemisphere (don't even embarrass yourself with Colorado or Rubicon comments).
Btw, I sank it in the Pacific...well...a Lagoon...just south of San Carlos. Sunk. Hydro-Lock. Done.
Not!
Thanks to John Marking from FOX SHOX: he got my bike going...I have NFI HOW!? But, he did. Seriously...I don't know how. The bike was Hydro-Locked.
Yet, I was able to ride it back across the Lagoon.
Thank you, John.
Any and all of this that that seems to not make any sense?
Don't worry.
It'll all be on CBS Sports this Summer.
I'm Manny Ornellas & I Endorse this statement.
Those of you that've been around a while...drop me a pm.
Peely?
You're in..."Say, When."
glad you guys had a successful trip, i have some amazing memories from our jaunt last year.
speaking of, last year today we were on our way from Mulege to Loreto and had some fresh fish tacos and DosEquis in Scorpion Bay
if i lived in SoCal and 60 minutes from the border, you bet your ass i'd be buying a 650.
A Brutha might wanna try a FE501S...
GuyB: we need Vital Decals we can order w/ our "Vital-Name" on'em for rides like this!
And, yes...these rides make memories.
