Can anyone tell me the dimensions needed to fit forks and shock?

The one I'm looking at is 51.5" x 15" x 4" is that deep enough to fit everything?

Thanks!

Mine is 51 x 11.5 x 4.5 & I shipped both my front forks & shock with a little room to spare.

You can take your suspension off & lay it out & take measurements if your still not sure.

That's what I used for mine. Works great, just remember to secure it shut with zip ties. I don't know the dimensions of this case but I can fit my AR-15 and 20 gauge shotgun in it together. Next time you go to Walmart grab a tape measure and go find a case and see if it will work for you

I have shipped my suspension a number of times in gun cases and, I will never do it again. The shipping companies want to charge you extra because it isn't in a cardboard box and the cases only last a couple trips. The last time I shipped it in a case like the one below, it arrived without the handle and with one of the latches ripped off. Try getting your suspension company to send you a box.

That looks like the same one I use. I wrap my shock in a heavy layer of newspaper just in case it would rub against the forks. It's snug but it works.
I've sent off about 4 sets over the years this way with no issues. But as Eric513 said, make sure you use zip ties. I also tape it shut.
Better safe than sorry.

At least you sent your suspension to the right place.

Yeah I'm pretty happy with the work they did. I've been itching for a 125 YZ and if I get one Noleen will be getting my service again

I use two, then wrap them with duct tape. I can't fit ours in one normal 48x10x4 case. So one has just a single fork, the other fork and the shock...

I have used the same one for years me and a buddy both used it. It is just a plastic one from bass pro I think it was. I think it works great. I wrap the shock in an old T-shirt and put it all in together. I live close enough now that I just drop it off but still use it for the transport.

Do you know anybody that golfs? My dad is an avid golfer and I borrowed a box he had a driver shipped in. Worked perfect. Was a little tight with the shock, but it was light weight and I was able to modify the length to make shipping cheaper!

If you are worried about potential damage and plan on using the case multiple times, spring for a Pelican rifle case. You could throw it off a building and it wouldn't even phase it. You're gonna spend $200 on it, but you'll never need to buy another one.

Bonus is you can use it to tote your rifles around as well.

I use a plastic rifle taped shut with the shock and both forks all in one. I also put each fork in its own shotgun soft case for protection before closing it all up.

Just a note, don't super mega secure it before you take it to the shipping place. UPS has made me open my box and show its not a weapon every single time.

How much has everyone paid for shipping? Planning on sending my suspension off this winter and was curious what the average cost would be. Mainly to determine if it is worth it to ship it or have a local guy do it.

Depends on distance ,zip code. Usually $40-50 each way,. With the box insured.

The gentleman that does my suspension, Alex Martens of Konflict Motorsports sent me a gun case to put my suspension in so I could mail it to him. It worked fine & I didn't have any issues w/ it. I didn't see the cost, but it's a big heavy package! It can't be cheap?

The one I'm looking at is 51.5" x 15" x 4" is that deep enough to fit everything?

Thanks!
I was worried about this too. I purchased a set on craigslist a couple weeks ago. No tracking number. Said he packaged in a box. Worried we should have used something like a rifle case. No tracking number given. I figured a pro like nico izzi would know how to put a tracking number on.

Im just kidding- be sure to use paper on the forks to prevent rubbing.

Hey guys, I hope this isn't too late to be considered "Resurrected".... After finding this link on Google I made an account to share a box with you that I just fabricated last week specially for shipping suspension. UPS now charges $11 each way to inspect a gun case and FedEx will no longer insure gun cases in my area. If you know any shops needing shipping solutions feel free to send them my way! Just as well, I can send out single orders. I have worked with a few local shops to create a solution that is easily adjustable, sturdy, and professional. All while keeping the cost low. Please flame on and give plenty of feedback! Patent Pending, working on the official launch within a week!

Thanks!
