Does anyone else in this forum ride their bikes in winter with studded tires? I did this winters first ride with studded tires today. It's quite not the same than riding in the summer but It's only way to get some riding done here in Finland during winter months.
Here's some helmet cam footage from today:

Here's another option
What is the temp? What jetting changes do you make?

On the video temp is about -5°C (23°F) . I don't usually ride when it's colder than -15°C (5°F) I'm running roughly 10% larger main and pilot jet and also richer needle to accommodate cold weather.
I really want to demo one to see what theyre all about. I too am a little leery about putting that much extra strain on my motor.
5k is the price of a good used mountain sled. so there is also that.
They are incredibly fun, but incredibly different than a snowmobile. Moto guys love them, snowmobilers generally don't.
Not sure on the whole reliability aspect, but from what I've heard, they are pretty easy to set up and hold up to the abuse better than you'd think
Do you guys hit the ice aswell? Racing on a frozen lake is super fun.
I usually go up a couple of sizes on the main jet at winter time. And if it's really cold you could also cover up the radiators, but that depends from bike to bike. The fuel injected four strokes needs a thermostat though to achieve correct operating temperature.
This pic just about says it all.
Seen this last year and it reminded me of the way we used to practice/Race in the winter.
I wonder if my 250 2 stroke would handle that timber sled alright?
