How many of you get sketched out riding in the wind? Was riding at Pala yesterday and it got really windy/gusty. A little breeze is ok, but a stiff wind just completely derails my mojo. The feeling of being pushed off the side of the track, or losing all momentum to clear a jump just doeasnt do it for me..........

It depends on the track but yeah I get pretty freaked out when the wind is so bad it moves you like 3 ft in the air. I lived and raced in Vegas for 5-6 years and it used to be super bad at times there. We used to watch the weather report just to see how bad the wind was going to be before we went riding. The same way we watch for the rain report here in the NW.

I hate the high wind for any activity. we had 30 MPH steady yesterday and gusts to 50. I was inside all fucking day. Today is beautiful though. Gonna go fire up the 450 and throw down some cold laps.

Riding in the wind doesn't really bug - it's jumping doubles, triples, or step ups in the wind that is sketchy!!

I would love to see track builders never put jumps on a track that are perpendicular to the prevailing wind direction. Jumping in a cross wind is too dangerous. I would also like to see track builders have a means to close down jumps but keep the track open when it gets too windy do safely jump; a safe detour that lets us ride laps while bypassing the jump.
