Kyle Chisholm's check writer sure ripped it up. Even gave a shout out to racing dirt bikes.

But the Fowler ladies weren’t going to miss the Mother’s Day present Rickie was cooking up for his mom Lynn, and with sister Taylor at the wheel they made it back to the course.

“She can handle herself behind the wheel,” Fowler said. “We grew up riding and racing dirt bikes. She can manage.”

The mental toughness to hit no. 17 like that twice, wow.

Jeez, his girlfriend is Miss SX worthy too, although I imagine she is....busy.

Very cool.

Great for Rickie! I was watching around the midway point and Sergio was pulling away, I think Fowler was in 10th. Saw on the news later that he had won the thing. That run from 14-through-18 was amazing.

It is semi dirt bike related... He sponsors Chisholm, used to ride, and he is just a nice guy. At this moment in the Moto world, I don't think it is the worst to talk about.

rickies run down the stretch has not been equaled and probably never will be. the concentration to hit 17 and 18 like he did in the playoffs was unreal...for non golfers not a big deal but he came from the back of the pack to win the OA

Fowler put together the greatest finishing stretch in tournament history when he played his final six holes in 6-under par, including an unprecedented eagle, birdie, birdie finish on 16, 17 and 18. Including the playoff, he was 8-under in his last 10 holes. Phenomenal.

His chunk of the purse is $1,800,000!

And that does not include his sponsorship bonuses which is huge for golf. It's not as physical as MX but what he did at the end was amazing in one of the most difficult sports on earth.....way to go Ricky!

Our local news decided to cover the rescue of two idiots that drove their car into a flash flood, and put the playoff in a tiny box in the corner of the screen. Great call.

Huge statement by Rickie yesterday. His closing stretch was incredible, especially to hit it within 7 feet on the island hole #17 THREE times in one day. I sort of wrote him off as a great player who just couldn't seem to close (definitely not overrated in my book), but hopefully his win yesterday snowballs into some good mojo at the remaining majors.

I was watching. That was ridiculous.

I follow Fowler's score most weekends. Yesterday I saw how far back he was mid afternoon and forgot about it. Settled in to watch a recording of the Spanish MXGP, checked the front page of ESPN.COM and it says he's the leader in the clubhouse. WTF??? Needless to say I flipped over to NBC to watch 'Galf' and got to listen to a breathless news anchor working overtime to convince us that we could all die at any minute if we get wet.

The tour had a poll of questions to answer @ the first of the year. Kind of stupid, hurts some guys feelings ect.

anyways one of the question was which other golfer was the least likely one that you would help in a fight? Bubba Watson was
the answer.

another was, which pro on the tour is the most over rated? Ian Coulter was one & the other was Ricky Fowler.

All I got to say is NOT NOW...

Too bad Phil isn't into moto, the dude will spend a buck....

hell yeah, i've been a huge Fowler fan since he came on tour. i dig his style on the course, he plays aggressively and is rarely playing it safe. his play on the 17 all week was phenomenal, then to drop that long birdie on 18, incredible. gotta be impressed with his finish this weekend,

his girl isn't hard to look at either (much better pics out there, but this one fits the golf mold)

Ricky killed it. Ice water in his veins, and balls the size of watermelons. He went out and WON that thing, no discussion. I don't know how his knucklehead peers can suggest he is the most over rated when he was on the only dude to finish in the top 5 of all 4 majors last year? WTF?

not to mention one of only 2-3 professionals ever to do so in the history of the sport. i'll never understand the "over-rated" moniker

The clip of him macking his chick after the win has been on every sports show highlight today, it has practically overshadowed his win. Blink

I saw a pretty cool video that followed him around after the win and shows everything they do, from press conferences, to going and thanking all the volunteers that help for the tourney etc etc. The dude is pure class.

btw: i was wondering where his classic Sunday Orange was? Found the answer:

SB Nation's Brendan Porath writes, "Mom is more important than Oklahoma State."

Sponsor Puma noted that former OSU golfer Rickie Fowler, who won The Players Championship Sunday, joined other Puma golfers in wearing pink in honor of Mother's Day.

However, as pictures have shown, Fowler still had his bright orange golf clubs.

I thought it was pretty wild when the crowd started booing Sergio on the 17th tee.
