Around 30 minutes in, but the whole discussion with Rich is pretty interesting.

Handles the same but lighter is all he seems to give up on it.

Hopefully it's 239 pounds or less, ready to ride.
The weight they saved in the frame will be offset by the increase in weight due to the spring forks is my guess, so same weight as last year?

I don't know we'll see. He did say it was lighter, we just don't know how much yet. I'm wishful thinking it lost that much weight but who knows...

yeah true, could be a multitude of other areas where they could lose more weight anyway...hopefully none of it sacrifices reliability

I read it's the same engine as last year, so this limits the weight reduction areas to the rolling chassis, but plus add another 3lbs for the spring forks, it's gonna be difficult to get major weight reduction.

I am sure it's gonna be a good bike though.

I'm all for a lighter bike. But good Lord some of the gripes Frome people about weight on a bike is absolutely ridiculous. We all know damn well that the majority of us couldn't feel a 5 pound difference in a bike.

There was a lot of material to be removed from the swingarm, the current suzuki one is just straight box section. The stock exhaust on the rmz is super heavy. Throw on think/guts seat foam and a titanium exhaust and you will have one very sick bike. I will be buying one as soon as they come out. Cant wait. I really hope the shock and exhaust dont change so I can use my current stuff, but not a deal breaker.

Should definitely be lighter.
The chassis and bodywork are majorly different and will no doubt shed some decent weight. The new bodywork is lot more minimal than the current RMZ plastic.
Also a lot of minor changes such as rear brake, airbox, subframe which are all quite likely going to be lighter.

Spring forks will add weight but will be worth it over the air forks!

Plus anyone who has owned an RMZ knows how easy it is to knock off a few lbs, the weight of the RMZ is only an issue if you ride it bone stock (even then its not that big a deal)

I can think of one guy who isn't going to agree with you about the swingarm.

Lol too true. But you know dam well anyone over 40 at the track HAS to have a new bike with everything on it. I love seeing the vet dude who comes in every couple laps too adjust something on his bike but isn't going fast enough to be on the main track

Love my '12 RMZ450, want a new Husky but can't justify it so I can continue to go as slow as I go now, do like the magic button though

You're that skeptical? You think the new bike will fail to lose any weight?
Edit: my fault, I read your post wrong.

Everything is speculation right now. The one thing thats not is this bike looks incredible, will turn well, and be reliable. Still a great option, plus they ride lighter than they are.
