Renthal or Pro Taper?

9/15/2012 1:35 PM

Which do you guys prefer? I want to see why you guys like one and not the other and whatnot.

I personally like Renthal Two Pieces and I'm going to switch in a few days from my Pro Taper.

If you're not mixing gas, you're not haulin ass.

Personally my favorite handlebars were the Tag YZ Double Hi bend. Nice and tall, and very strong. I never once bent a set.

Whatever " feels " right and gives you more control and comfort, I've always chosen different bends / brands to suit the bike i'm riding at the time

I run it stock bro

Pro taper, blk, pastrana bend... nice and high... it kicks ass.

Renthals are for short people lol

I use the Pro Taper ATV bend. It's the exact same as the Pastrana FMX bend, but 1" wider. I'm a tall guy and like the high bars though. Next up will be a set of 14" apes like on my Harley, lol.

For Pro Taper I like the Henry/Reed bend. Renthal... Windham bend which is very close to Henry/Reed bend.

For whatever reason I prefer no crossbar and liked the Renthal fatbars

Renthal fat bars, rolled forward.

I had a set of CR high bend applied bars/clamps on an older cr250..

now im running a set of pro taper CR high's on my cr250

i got the bars and the adapters for my stock clamp for $115 from ebay, brand new.

i think 7/8th bars probably vibrate less but they are more likely to bend in a crash..which is why i run oversized bars.

if you dont crash alot, nothing wrong w/ 7/8th bars

KEEP WORKING, MILLIONS ON WELFARE DEPEND ON YOU!

I have used both, I like the feel of the o-size bars without crossbar. Like someone said above, it depends on bike if you want the stiffness of the twin walls. I got a pair of fasst flexx bars for my son, and they are the best now that I've tried them. Now I need a pair!

Dochi demo i da yo!

Try the Mika Metals bar, more forgiving and less stiff feeling compared to the twin walls.

I run ProTaper bars, clamps and grips. Wont change any time soon.

I run the Windham bend, like my bars super straight and higher then most. Although I am fairly short. But the protaper clamps are adjustable so I can get the bars closer to me but still keep the bars straight. I ride over the front of my bike which is why I like my bars really straight.

But like some have said, what ever feels good for you. I have tried Renthals for about a month and hated them. They were the twin walls with the cross bar and that could be why. But either way find what you like and run it.

"My choice" is Pro Taper but.... run what you like.

They are both excellent bars, but I'd go with the Tags. We have run them all, and those just hold up better no matter what happens. Never even had one bend.

I like Renthal's bar pad
I also love their twin walls. I had a pair a few years ago and I suffered a bad crash and they only bent very slightly, but just enough to notice. I ordered a new set for my 125 and they'll be here anytime now.

If you're not mixing gas, you're not haulin ass.

I currently run these Easton bars and clamps, but I haven't formed an opinion yet. The ProTaper bars I was using felt fine, much better than the stock Renthals that came with
