Definitely struck a nerve with Dunge there, but honestly it's what we've wanted to hear for years. So many people have said he's been "handed" titles and shit and he hasn't said a word about it before but I'm sure it's pissed him off for quite a few years.

I really think Roczen had an effect on Dungey and Moosecans results last night.

Again, anyone who rides/races who has been hurt understands what he is going thru. Right now they are trying to save his arm, in a way he can race again. We all hope he can!

I must say, I usually pay no attention to stuff like this. Having that been said, that was one of he more interesting off track happenings Ive seen. The variation in the dynamics speaks volumes.

Ryan Dungey is a class act ! All 3 of those riders are, but I really liked how Ryan jumped in an answered that question.

To be fair to that journalist, he wasn't saying that Dungey has been handed anything, he was simply asking Chad and Eli what their thoughts were on a lot of people saying that the 2017 SX title fight is essentially over now that Roczen is gone. That's a valid question and doesn't slight Dunge in any way.

I think by using the word "handed" it brought up some underlying negative connotation that Dungey gets handed titles by other riders getting injured, which was not what the reporter was implying at all.

I don't think they understood what he was asking. He asked if the fact people were already giving Dungey the title motivated them not the fact that KR was out.

I think the wording as you said hit Dungey wrong. His reply was very true though. These guys work their asses off and he has never been handed anything.

You guys acting like that was an outrageous question.. lol in what way? Everyone HAS been saying that with Roczen out, Dungey basically has it in the bag now. It wouldn't be a question that I would ask, however, I don't think it's as stupid as some have said.

Theres many ways that journalist's question could be taken. Dungy & Reedy both come across well there.
