I' m no expert, and I don't know Chad, but from what I gather he only races for championships. I don't see him returning this season, and I'm slightly doubtful for next season. We may have seen the last of Chad Reed?

Im not a huge Reed fan, but thats unfortunate, and he makes for good racing. I think everyone is overreacting about his slap, do people not watch NFL or those cry babies in the NBA, or hockey? He was frustrated and given their history, I'm not saying it was ok to slap stewart, just that I'm glad his penalty was successfully appealed.

He has a two-year deal with Kawasaki. So, I'm pretty sure we'll see him back.

I wouldn't say that. What's the word on him defending his outdoor title?

My understanding is that he's contracted to ride indoors and outdoors for 2 years with Kawasaki.

I hope I'm wrong. He's just becoming a veteran of the class, and I don't think he will race any series unless he full well believes and wants a championship. I'm not saying it like it's a bad thing at all. The man has paid his dues. If he wants to hang it up after a broken bone this late in his career, more power to him. Go race Rally cars. Cage with age.

Not that I would have wished it this way, but maybe this is the (short) break away from the sport he needs. He's been racing virtually non-stop since A1 last year.

... or he could come back mid season to tilt the championship Dungey's way.

Hope he's able to heal up and become 100% on this deal. Get over any nagging problems.

Well the next few weeks just got a whole lot less interesting. Bummer news for sure, heal up quick boy, but make sure you heal up strong.

One thing we know is that this news just made r-acers year, which will show when he comes and chimes in. Will show what a sad individual he is.

What do you think the points will be six races from now? RD, RV and JS?

Any help he could give his teammate in the title chase would be appreciated.

So has everyone else except for Stewart and Windham?

When he comes back he'll have no pressure at all, should be good!

He will be back...Do you really think Reed would end a great career like that? In fact being off and watching this stuff unfold may keep him around a little longer worked for RC

He'll be back to race SX... He still needs time on that bike and the best time is at the track...

he will be back this year he's under contract with kawasaki so he will return, he might not ride outdoors/des nations and his own super x but, probaly the best for him to have a break, he did to much in 09 - After ama supercross he's plates from he's hand/wrist will need to come out at some stage therefor timeout from racing,..........>> He needs to come back ride the rest of the ama supercross season out he will have no pressure on him as the championship has gone from him this year, Then take the whole year off and come back to A1 2011 refreshed, He's Super-x is to close to the ama supercross start and riding so much only burns you out mentally and physically also the risk of injury for what a super-x title big deal who cares, and do you think chad does? come on we and chad are only interested in the one that means something the AMA SUPERCROSS TITLE. As for race time (A perfect way of fitness and bike setup), thats bullshit he works with some of the best trainers and bike engineers so yes rest up and bring your resourses at your personal track and get it all right for 2011 A1
