He went into Pieck at the end of the first base. They came together and he started looking at down at his bike. Can you quote Ocscotties post?

For all the hype coming in feeling better, great off season etc etc ... he was in the same spot around the same guys as last year.
Ken and Dunge are so far ahead of everyone else though it's ridiculous.. it's another one of those years

Unfortunately your right, no way Roczen, Dungey, Tomac, Anderson etc would spend half the race trying to get around Pieck, one lap and they would be gone

He had bad luck in A1, he will be back to top ten next race.

Straight to the main from the heat and making a move for 8th in the main.

I would not mind either that speed or pace.

I can't see Chad winning this year unless a lot of things went right for him one night, I think the top six riders tonight are a step above the rest by a little and they will be the six guys who can win this year unless something odd happens.

But Reed is looking like a solid 5-10 guy all season long with a good chance of a podium on a good night.

He totally blew the start, i think he was last going over the gate. Was always going to be tough right from there. I bet thats what he will be most upset about.

Considering new talent shows up every year, Reed should have been shuffled down and out of even making main events at this point in his life. The fact that he has slowed that down and settled into a top 10ish area year after year I think speaks very highly. He looked exactly as I thought he would, which IMO means he was ready for another batch of new, legit, fast guys like Webb.

Plus he is one of those few guys, like Grant, who can win and people will all be like, "Well sure he won" no matter what year it is. I think he looks good and I was happy to see that it was just a mechanical and no injuries to deal with after one round.

Reality is Grant or Reed won't win...about as much chance as me winning the lottery. Roczen, Dungey, Tomac and Musquin alll somehow not getting to the front instead of these two, NO WAY.

You may be right but it would be a total snooze fest just watching 4 riders. To still be top ten in the toughest SX series in the world after all these years is pretty amazing. There were also a lot of great riders that qualified behind him. Yep Roczen, Dungey, Tomac & Musquin were on it but everyone who lined up at A1 has my respect.

I think Reed proved that he still can win last year when he got a couple of seconds. If everything lines up for a perfect scenario, he will be there and take advantage of it.

With a good start I think he could of been in the top 5, his pace was decent in the heat race.

You'd be a fool to count out Reed in any race he enters. I see him winning at least one main this season.

I think he might be worth watching this weekend since he really likes San Diego - his two worst finishes there since 2002 were a 12th and an 8th, every other one was 5th or better.

Hard to say. His heat on a track that he's on record doesn't suit him or his bike, he hung in there.

I'd say a technical hardpack track with a holeshot and he might have something.

Peick thought he was Friese and ran up on him hard.

You did say Reed tried to be Friese and t-bone Peick.. Good that it was only heavy bike that broke and not old man.
