I've been waiting for that story to be told since the days of President Hodaka and the
invasion of the DG Radial heads.
Loved it. I remember being in high-school in Amherst, Massachusetts and promptly
assembling a group of burnouts and bad-boys that all rode dirt-bikes or MX'd - and
formed an MX Club at my stupid school - pretending that we could be as cool as the
kids in SoCal. DC, Nick McCabe and crew - great job. Really dug it.
I remember suggesting to school authorities that we should be competing as a school -
they told me to shut up and that Pineapple-Upside-Down Cake was on the menu in the
cafeteria. I hustled off with my 35cents to feed. Yep, school lunch was 35 cents, young uns....

Thanks Rupe!
I especially liked that we had motocross P.E. at the same time our football team was doing their practices. They had the military look going on. Full buzz cuts and precision drills. We had long hair, boxers hanging out from our gym shorts, and were using exercises from Rolf Tibblin's book.
I'm pretty sure it drove our football coaches crazy.
What happens if you screw off in class - do you hafta do 35 minute moto's after
school ?
Uuuh - did you guys have cheerleaders ? - He inquired with a Beavis-level of creepiness
The Shop
Not me - I went to hs in Massachusetts - plus I;m way younger than those dudes.
GuyB and some of the ol' pharts had high-school motocross - article in latest
Racer-X.
Highschool motocross! HA
Theres a school over here that still does full on high school MX, but its pretty hard to get into
he had a honda 125. i was in the sixth grade. one friday we left palm springs early and went to FMF in harbor city. you would give them your cylinder, head and carb and some money of coarse. in return you get a ported cylinder, rejetted carb, piston, porcupine head and a new FMF pipe. my brother drove from FMF back to corona. me and our friend(who was older than me) put on the FMF parts in the back of the truck as we were going down the 91 back to corona. he broke it in during practice and then blew it up during the races...

And, that, me buckos, smells more like pure motocross than anything I've ever
had the distinguished pleasure of reading. Salute. ******* LOVE IT.
Pit Row
* The idea that they would rebuild the bike while traveling in the pick-up with the FMF
shtuff - that's actually the kind of schnizzle that reminds us what a wild, wonderful,
ridiculously sickosaurus hobby / club / habit - we have. Cheers my brother.
