I wonder what he thinks about Alessi possibly doing a burnout on a jump face, since it's pretty much world news now.

I like these updates he's been giving. It sounds dumb, but it's a great way for his fans to see his personality. He is quickly gaining a lot of fans here in the states from this switch.

Agreed.

Also found it interesting that he felt great on the bike right away and didn't need any changes. He's gonna do well over there with such a flexible riding style and wide margin for setups.

I bet he would get a laugh if he even heard about it!

I like that he's taking his practice bike mechanic with him, giving him further opportunities. It's not just Ratters getting a job through RV's new adventure.

It will be good to follow RVs journey

Wow, this RV guy is really moving up my list of favorites. I've always liked and respected him on the bike, but I didn't think i'd miss him too much when he retired.

That said, I'm thrilled that he's going on this journey and I hope he continues to post updates. So cool that he's giving his practice bike mechanic this opportunity to go with him on the journey. I wish Team RV the best!

I hope we get some serious coverage here in the states. All the media outlets should be fielding GP teams to cover RV's final show!

Some sort of reality TV show with cameras behind the scenes might grab some attention from people who don't watch moto, I mean I don't go up the woods and watch men cut trees down but sometimes find myself watching axe men on TV!

Opel/Vauxhall /Holden Vivaro, maybe? It's not exactly the Kawasaki rig though!

Likely the Vivaro but possibly this one. More suitable but not small by anybodies standards.

The most interesting thing was the quote

"it’s a real breath of fresh air to be involved with a team that’s excited and passionate about the sport"

WTF was the poor guy surrounded with in the States???????????

I just wish he would have mentioned a little about the differences in the bike, first impression.

If you're racking up lots of miles and paying euro fuel prices, one of these is just the job!

I think he is doing well, right attitude, right behaviour to the new era.
He is not missing the speed so he is stepping to the right direction..

RV is gonna be in staging, all the other riders are going to be like: "Dude, did you hear RV has his own dedicated goggle, gear person?"

He hinted at improved TV coverage during his interview with Matthes on Pulp this week, but couldn't divulge the details.

i know its early days, but i'm really liking what i see so far with the villipoto to europe story! It would be great if he did some type of documentary following his journey- but even just the nice detailed write ups, instagram posts etc are very refreshing to see. It looks like he's having a good time so far, enjoying his journey!

It begs the question though- if Ryan clearly has a great time on his European adventure, exploring new cultures, visiting interesting places, riding different tracks against different opposition- will more top tier american riders follow suit in the coming years? I'm sure someone like Dungey could negotiate a very good contract to race GP's if he really wanted to. WIll he try to emulate RV and do a year of GP's at some point in his career?

Personally I doubt it, but it would be brilliant if what RV is doing this year made moving to gp's a more attractive prospect to other top tier american riders

Doubt Kawasaki USA just don't give a shit. More like Kawasaki USA have a bunch of titles with RV and Mitch, so it's more like following the routine and the titles will come. Where Kawasaki Europe is desperate for a title.

that's a pretty good point. I find myself watching some of those shows, too and I have no idea why. I've never panned for gold. I've never lived in Alaska. I've never gone crabbing (ok, ok, that one time in college...haha), yet I've seen all those shows.
