Tough day at the track yesterday. While I was away from the track at the ER, my son messaged me that somebody died. Apparently the gentlemen was Jerry Penny. Jerry got crossed up in some ruts, an got thrown off the bike into the face of a small step up.

I didn't know him, but it became apparent he and his family were avid participants in the sport.


RIP Jerry.

Jary Penny...I was there too. A very sad day at the track. I met Jary a few times before. Definitely a good rider and seemed like a cool guy

He was older and rode a KTM 300

If Brian is a salesman at Fay Meyers, then Jary was his dad, I was told.

Landed bad off a jump, tried to hang on and save it, fingers got smashed between the grip and clutch lever when the bar hit the ground.

Its been a sad sad time for the Colorado motocross community. Last weekend Anthony Hayes died from head trauma after a crash in the whoops section about 125 yards before where Jary crashed

Rest In Peace Jerry.. My husband and i where there Sat. He was parked in front of us and just looked like the happiest guy on the planet, had the hugest smile and it was a beautiful day. We
saw him gear back up, my husband waved to him and we went right after, about halfway around my husband saw them giving cpr and when i rode by my heart just broke when i saw him.. very intense day. I have such a deep newfound respect for MX.. My heart goes out to his family and freinds.. Though it is a tragedy he died doing what he loved, God works in mysterious ways......

P.S. Those ruts are HORIBBLE out there!!! And After all the story's i've heard of deaths and injury's, they don't have an onsite paramedic or flaggers!!! unbelievable...
