Terrible news. Only weeks after announcing his retirement from the sport following yet another world title in 2011.

This still doesn't seem real.

Barely a year after Woods, two of the greatest off road riders in history....

He will be sorely missed, loved reading his blog, talk about telling it like it is. Ahola always seemed to stay true to himself and do things his way, gotta respect that.

A great champion.

This is a cruel sport at times, takes real passion to love something that can hurt you so bad, borderline crazy. Maybe that's why we all bicker so much on here, just a bunch of crazy bastards!

Godspeed Mika, thanks for the ride brother!

Yeah, a buddy told us Ahola was training mx in Girona. He crashed hurt but leaved the track by his own feet. He felt bad this last month. It was too late when doc's saw his internal injuries, he was in the very best Hospital of Barcelona.

RIP Mika.

This is one of the badest news i have heard in a long time!
The first time i saw this guy was in 2003 in the ISDE of brazil, he was drinking beer one day before the 1 day! i said WTF he is not going to do nothing here!. But then i saw him ride in the sand and i said SHIT this guy is for real!

Great guy! i remember racing th ISDE in new zeland ( his last ISDE) and he was a great dude, he was down to earth no big star and shit. Talk with everybody as if we were as good as him! then he went inside the forset and put the best time! I was a really huge fan of this guy!
