These past couple weeks I've noticed his riding style has changed. More fluid , not stiff in the back , more body english and just plain more aggressive. Say what you want about him training with Aldon......but I haven't seen this Dungey before.

That track was pretty brutal tonight for an SX race....and Ryan didn't look like he barely had a sweat goin'. Blink

I like what I'm seeing. Good job Ryan!

The finish line heel clicker said it all. I've never seen that from the dunge before. He's feeling it. Love it!

He is definitely a little more aggressive. His starts were great and imho hes got that extra 1% he was missing with villopoto the last couple years. Its possible we have yet to see the best ryan has to offer.

Haha....that's right! I forgot about that. At first glance I thought they were showing a MM25 replay. Freakin' Dunge doing a heel clicker? Never thought I would see that. Very cool none the less!

Agree, doing what he has always done, gets out front he is hard to beat, guy has a ton of talent.

Does look like he is smiling a little more this year, though having the points lead and Red plate will generally do that.

Loved the clicker I saw it as an Ode to Marvin of course, who threw his own on his win.

RD through 7 rounds the last 5 years. It's his best start since 2012...

2015 152pts... 4 3 2 2 1 3 1

2014 116pts 2 3 6 4 20 4 2

2013 133pts 3 8 6 3 1 3 3

2012 145pts 3 1 2 4 4 3 2

2011 123pts 2 5 3 3 20 2 2

And I'd argue that more than points, he visibly looks better... If he pulled every holey I wouldn't at all be surprised to see him have won everything thus far, he looks like he's doing his pace really calmy, no sketchy moments, just doing it.

I don't really buy into all this furore that always happens the day after someone wins. Whoever wins does so because they found the winning formula THAT night.

Dungey rode very well last night, but I think people underestimate just how important a good start and a clean getaway at the beginning of a race is. Had Dungey been stuck behined Baggett or Short early on while Roczen or Canard were out front would everyone still be celebrating the 'Aldon effect' today?

Roczen made an uncharacteristic error in Oakland and probably gave away a lot more than the 12 points that he finds himself trailing by now. There are still ten rounds to go and Dungey will no doubt suffer some misfortune of his own at some point.

No doubt Jamma but that might just be it, I doubt the Aldon effect has come in yet for Dungey... Looking at history you'd have to bet it's coming tho.

Also as an aside, what time is it there because we definitely haven't raced in Detroit yet... or do we even this year? Might be strong latté time!

i think he willingly sacrificed for KTM, to become part of their R&D program and grow the brand. pretty cool career move if you ask me, he'll be KTM for life i would guess. that means a solid career after racing.

anyway, this new bike is the fruit of that labor, so he can ride like this finally. i honestly think that's the difference.

I feel a huge part of how he looks may be attributal to KTM's new machine. I believe they are finally on the right track. Everyone that has ever thrown a leg over a bike can tell you that if you aren't confident in it, it is hard to trust and do your best.

He's starting to look like he did on the Suzuki, clearly feeling more comfortable on the new KTM. Really impressed with him, he had the consistency now he has the speed too. That's a dangerous combination for everyone else. Roczen will have to get some answers quickly, because he had Dungey on speed for the last year and the early in the season.

Whether it's the bike or Aldon or a combination, I love seeing Dungey this confident and aggressive.

Long season to go with potential mudders coming up, so still early to be handing out the championship, and roczen still has a bunch of time to step it up, but Dungey is the last guy I would want to be trailing by 12 heading east.

For those of who have been Dungey supporters for the last 5 or so years, this is a breath of fresh air.

I just wished Ryan had sought Bakers services earlier.
Every single rider that's wkd under Aldon has done markly better. Can you imagine the duels we'd of seen between him and RV? (Villo still had an edge in eqpt...IMHO.)
Agree....think the new KTM is working pretty good for him.
He's probay thinking, "wished you guys had given that bike to me 3 yrs ago!" :-/

He's cleaned up his backsides for sure. He used to clip the rear tire on smaller jumps & it really disrupted the bike entering corners. Now he's landing clean in the backside & it looks so much more fluid / smoother. Big Dungey fan & it used to be painful to watch at times, great to see everything coming together for him.

I do agree with Jamma regarding the impact of the start on the final outcome.
But it sure is great to see Dungey having fun out there. Heel clicker, really?
I can't stand the Diesel moniker but he looks like he's the Turbo Diesel now.

Roczen is still hurting from his crash and once he starts to feel better no one will be talking about dungey
