Qatar worth the $?

For all my cheap moto bros and sises who didn't plunk down the hundred for the package (hi) and/or haven't seen the race yet (hi), I'm hoping someone who watched can give their hopefully spoiler-free opinion on whether it's worth the $7 to buy it on the MXGP site retroactively.

I watched the qualifying race last night, in which Ryan V. got 8th, and I would consider that a pretty uneventful moto, worth maybe 70 cents. If that had been the real moto 1, and moto 2 had been similarly uneventful, then I guess together they'd be worth about a dollar-forty.

As an American with a more general interest in RV-related happenings, two motos just like those detailed above but with RV's and Cairoli's positions swapped would be worth a little more to me, say $2.40, but they'd still be pretty uneventful. Tomac's rides at the last two MXdN's were probably worth $4 a pop, even as single motos.

So, what was Qatar worth?

I watched the free feed, and I can say unequivocally I would pay that again. Support Luongo if you want but most of the races will be happening overnight for us and broadcast the next day. Stay off the internet Sunday morning, watch them on CBS Sports and spend the money you saved on your family.

$7 is too steep. I would struggle to pay $7 for random races and I don't want to subscribe to watch all when most are on in the middle of the night.

Someone somewhere has done the homework and picked $7, I'm not sure they are right though. I couldnt care less about qualifying so that is not something that sweetens the deal at all.

What is the magic number for maximum viewers? I say sub $5.

They won't be on cbs sports though. Only the 2nd motos are being shown on tv in the US.

The races are archived on MXGP TV so you can get up in the morning and watch them as live.

OK...we're 50/50 so far. Cheerful

If I had the channel I'd definitely watch it a day late. Hell, I'd probably watch it a week late. But no dice amigos.
(And only 2nd motos? Lame.)

The more you pay the better RV will finish ;-) McCread was right, buy the package and you have years of archived races to browse when things are slow or you want to watch a race you really enjoyed.

For $7? Absolutely. Peanuts. As long as they keep it from taking a dump like it did at the beginning of MX2-M1.

Or if you are really cheap, stream motors tv, they show the races several times during the week

It's worth whatever it's worth to each individual....I hate that Luongo gets my money, but I do it every year.

I fight the system hard with not owning a credit card or cell phone. I grabbed one of those pre-paid credit cards and plugged it in, was really really impressed. My internet is a whopping 3mbps and it maintained a good (I'd estimate 480p) quality with no lag, and thats almost unheard of for my internet.

Yes, its worth it. Go Canada Tongue

Assuming that there will be no further issues (and that was very frustrating to me), I loved it. It was great quality. I was able to plug my computer into an HD TV and the feed was amazing. I really like that series so for me it's definitely worth it. The hacked up one moto per class CBS sports coverage can't measure up.

I will pay to watch every live race I can unless RV is out of it. I honestly don't really care about the series. It has nothing to do with me thinking less of the gp's, I just don't have a favorite rider to follow over there. I do think this is history for our sport and want to watch.

I paid the $7 and was happy til the site went down. Then I tried the VIP link and it locked up my Mac with pop up adds. Extremly frustrating and I will not try a free link again. Luckily the paid site came back up and I got to watch. It was worth the money to me. Quality was fine, felt like they gave RV good enough coverage. So again, I will gladly pay $7 every time I can watch the race live while RV has even a slight chance at the championship.

I hope the quality of all of them is as good as this one was. Hooked the Mac Book to the flat screen and the picture was excellent. No commercials between motos. We will be watching them live or catching the archives.

Ain't exactly peanuts if you do every round. But I'd easily pay that much for great racing.

Sounds suspiciously like this turned from quality of the racing to quality of the program. Or maybe it was always that way...

But...thanks anyway, friends. Should just buy the thing, I guess. Probably not worth this b.s., considering you get the MXdN too.

But um...maybe I'll wait a few days...for reasons...
