In the context of the international motorcycle exhibition, EICMA, which takes place in Milan 10-15 November, KTM take this opportunity to introduce a new generation of motocross machines. Since earlier so we know that KTM has developed an electric enduro model. Whether future motocross machines will be electric or gasoline remains to be seen.

I know there are a lot of hybrid designs are on tables. Small 2 and 4 cycle engines to generate electricity which is stored in a small battery to deliver power. It would be nice to see these ideas get to prototype.

Tokyo Motor show opened for press today, Oct. 21st, and Yamaha have this SuperTenere concept bike to show. Looks like it is just for design study, but still cool looking.

Looks very similar to a Honda. Pretty good looking bike overall. I wonder if the 125SX, 150SX, and 250SX will share the same design.

Yes. And a clear disc in the front.

C'mon, man, it's concept art. Sweet looking, though.

One think I'd heard about the new prototypes being ridden over here is that while parts of the bike are close, the look isn't anywhere near done. Maybe this art above is closer.

Speaking of concept art, I wonder if the 2010 Yamaha YZF250 was inspired by this Dirt Rider 2015 Honda concept:

Hmmm...looks a lot like it doesn't it? I predict, next revolutionary for a MX bike, will be fuel in the frame, in order to lower CG! Yes, I know, Buell had it done, ON A ROAD BIKE!

Although I see fuel in the frame being an excellent idea, there would have to be a major redesign of frame styles, as the current stuff is too small to be used for anything more than a 5 lap amateur race. Even the 2nd gen Honda frames only held about 1/2 gallon, and all the newer frames are smaller than their 00-01 stuff.

Low sales and tough economic times will bring out some very inovative stuff, like the in the 70's. They have to do it, otherwise who will be interested in same ol dirtbikes when the penny's are scarce?

Going out on a limb here, but I'll venture to say the AMA will make it easier for exotica works bikes to compete again.
