I know it's a little early for silly season talk, but I was just thinking about what the line up at Pro Circuit could look like for next season. Obviously Forkner will be there, and you'd have to think that Cianciarulo and Savatgy will retain their place, but the other 3 could all be in danger of losing their ride. I think that both Bowers and Tonus are capable of performing well enough this year to earn themselves another year, but Alldredge is 4 races in to his second year and he's not really looking like he's going to find the kind if form that Mitch expects, so I would be surprised if he is there next season.

So what do you guys think? The same guys again minus Alldredge? Or maybe a guy like Colt Nichols gets a shot? Possibly Dylan Ferrandis?

I really hope Ferrandis goes across next year, he's pretty good at SX

Dylan Ferrandis will have one spot on PC, isn't that almost official? I know that he has said that he is going to US in 2017 and i would guess on a Kawasaki?

I haven't heard that, there was rumours of him going to Honda this off season so I'd be surprised if anything official has been agreed. I wouldn't be surprised if he did become a PC rider though

The move is postponed because of the last years injury, but i would expect that he will be in USA in 2017!

Austin Forkner and Joey Savatgy are in the green... I think Cianciarulo's contract is up, but I'm sure they'd re-sign him... I think Bowers might be on as well already.

Arnaud Tonus and Chris Alldredge are the two in the possible drop zone I believe.

There's a big difference between resign and re-sign. Wink

Kick them all to the curb other than Forkner and Cianciarulo. Unless Tonus has a good showing in SX, he's gone IMO. Same for Bowers. Alldredge should start shopping. I don't know how he crashes so much. When he's on top of his motorcycle, he looks good out there. I guess there's no point in giving Savatgy the boot. He's pretty on point indoors and out.

So...you think Joey stays on a 250...?
Joey only earned 98 points in 2013, meaning that even if he wins the title in 2016 he can defend it one year. So he could race 250s in 2017.

New Bike for Kawi soon!? !?
Yes, 2017 is the new KX250F ...based on 450 improvements in 2016.

New YZ250F and CRF250 due in 2018 (according to normal cycles of improvements)

I'd be super pumped if Nichols got a PC ride.

That's also assuming star isn't gonna make a run at him. Aldredge needs some seriously good rides ( multiple podiums) to keep his spot.

Do you think they'll stick with just those four? Or will they look to replace Tonus and Alldredge if they leave?

I bet Mitch is praying that happens.

Especially after the AC experiment.

Ya but isnt it even if u win the title in your 3rd yr you get bumped up automatically. He race sx in 2013 and 2015 so if he won the title this yr he gets bumped up. Points dont matter, if you win the title in your 3rd season racing a 250 in sx youre out.

Sorry, that was a bit hard to read....

I read up on the rule a few weeks ago, and from my understanding you can get bumped winning the championship if you've had three years in 250 Supercross of scoring 120 points or more (such as Tickle). Joey should be able to defend his title for one year if he were to win this season. If I'm reading them right... they're a little conflicting at times... I'll ask at the next round to clarify.

I would have Nichols signing a lucrative contract now. He's legit and will be great for the team, sponsors.

From my understanding it was as long as youve raced 3 seasons on a 250 and win a title you get bumped up no matter what after that 3rd year. If you score 120 points or more in 3 consecutive seasons you get bumped up ala austin stroupe on a 450 in 2011. Tickle won the title in his 5th yr but im almost postive he didnt have 120 points for 3 yrs in a row or whatever the points structure was back then. Jlaw won it in his 3rd yr and got to defend but it was different rules then. All sx rules are vague and confusing

I was thinking today that I could see it being time for Mitch to bring in another veteran, like he has done in the past (e.g., Ivan Tedesco). I don't know all of the ins-and-outs for eligibility (who the hell does), but I wonder if a guy like Dean Wilson or Broc Tickle, who may not have a ride next year (??), could slip back into the PC truck.

Broc Tickle nor Dean Wilson can go back down... Dean could if he skipped a year, but Broc can never go back to 250s for Supercross.

If I were Mitch - and I am not - I would take Nichols over Ferrandis all day long. I feel like the MXGP folks can be wicked fast but are such a gamble in SX. And let's be honest: that's where it matters in the US. Colt was fast last year before getting hurt and he's stupid fast this year so I think it's a no-brainer. Plus, I can't believe how good he is with a mic. If it wasn't for AC92, there wouldn't be precedent for this kind of awesome at his age with media. Put them both under the tent and send CycleTrader.com flowers. Done.

I like underdogs and Bowers and Alldredge are great riders. But you've got to go with results and the bottom line. Alldredge might still flower but if it's Bowser and Nichols there's no question about upside and results. Colt is really, really impressive. And, check the record, but I was early on the Savategy call. Look for "Savetegy is savage". I know others think it's premature but here's my flag in the sand. He's Super Legit.

If Tonus stays healthy, I strongly believe he will win races in both SX and MX this year, and if Mitch doesn't re-sign him, I believe he will be one of the hottest properties on the market going into 2017.

How can Tonus be hot property when he has raced 2 races in 2 years? Be there every weekend and show it. Bowers will be a good 450 sign for someone. AC, can't see him winning championships this year. Aldredge needs to stay off ground.

And he got hurt as well. Either way wasnt like the dude dominated the GP's and came over here. He was a top 5 guy, can ride SX decent. Either way he is like a Durham. When he was on the bike he was good, but 90% of the time he was on sidelines.

Re: AC - If he's at least his '14 form, which I'm sure he is able to get back to rather easily, there isn't anyone on the east coast that will flat out beat him. Martin will be strong, but he hasn't exactly displayed consistency in SX either
