Correct. I asked him about it afterward while he was watching the WMX moto, and he was doing that so he could use the inside line in the following corner.

not too much of a 377 fan, but it is a joy to watch him ride when he's on. Really nice lines. Good to see the guys racing clean too

I think it was about the same whether you jumped it or not. At times even faster to not jump it because of mistakes being made by the guys coming up a little short off it. In the womens class JP almost got by Gieger when Gieger jumped it (which was ballsy) and went outside and JP singled and went inside.

He came around the 4th or 5th lap and opted not to jump the pro double at steel city while trailing canard. Thought that maybe he missed his line, but then continued for the rest of the moto not to jump it. Appears that he was waiting for canard to blow the following corner and he would be there to capatilize. The guys got some pretty creative thinking out there. The time margin b/w jumping it and rolling it was suprisingly slim.
We love your bridge.

Wasn't K-dub jumping it and still making the inside quite often?

I was standing in that corner and watching the line selection. K-Dub didn't jump it a few times either in the 450 class. He came up short on it a few times when he did jump it..

In practice, 377 took the outside berm after the start that was maybe 10-12 inches high, laid the bike over and pinned it all the way around with the left bar almost on the ground. Impressive.

The 250f guys were doing it first moto too. Canard was jumping inside to inside and Pourcel jumping outside to inside. Must have been to rough second moto.

Canard jumping it was pretty sketchy a couple times, but I guess being behind in points he has to take more chances.

The way that jump was shaped, it shot you so high that it was almost even to not jump it, stay low and make the inside berm. It was better when you jumped it perfectly, but it was rough late in the day and the shadows were growing, so Pourcel was playing it safe and waiting for a mistake that did not come...

And that's what I really like about CP377: he doesn't change his game plan much for anyone, and what he does usually works well. He thinks his way through everything on the track, it seems, and never really panics.

the very inside line rut actually cut across the line from the outside berm which would allow for a block of the rider that jumped and took the far outside berm. i saw pourcel use it to make a passes in both motos. it also allowed him to line up straight with the next fade to the right,there-by making the fade a straight line. very creative i thought. this particular rut was inside of the one that K-dub used when he jumped it.

There was actually a new line cut in in the second 250 moto about 2 ft closer on the inside.. When Sipes crashed and took out the hay bails in the 450 moto the official put the hay bails back about 2ft. it opened the turn up on the inside for the 250 moto that followed. I watched Pourcel on the site lap, he definately noticed he could take to turn further inside. Hitting that double and making the tighter turn would have been difficult and he wasn't losing any time not jumping it.
