I mean he has a bunch of time on the 450. He is probably even sicker on that. He could throw a curveball into the championship. He isnt a fan of Dungey! From he is a friend/fan of RV from videos.
Next year would be a great year for Mitch to start that 450 team. He will eventually be "factory" 450 team.
Who gets pourcel next year?

He said after the race that he wanted to try and win the remaining lites races. If he wins them over Stroupe (providing he races) then it will shut up anyone who would want to suggest he only won the title because stroupe crashed out... (not that anyone in their right mind would think that)

I'd love to see CP race the last few rounds on a 450 and spank RD.

Yeah that was funny...

As for the topic, i'd love to see it, but i'm not sure that ANY PC rider has done that have they?!?!?

It'd be great to see and if Mitch could do the 450 team next year, then CP would be the one to try with!!!

Team tactics!!!?? Maybe. His fluid style would let him adapt to the bigger bike well. Imagine an all green top step. Best to ask the dune guy for his expert predictions of the racing outcomes.

Why would he do that and risk injury?

Right now his chances of getting a "very good" contract for next year are very likely. A bad race or mediocre race or two could end up costing him a great deal of money.

Don't hold your breath on CP riding a 450 this year.

I don't think so. Everyone (including myself) thinks that he will be a contender for next years title. He has nothing to gain and everything to lose if he chose to ride a 450 in the last few rounds.

In 2000 Mike Brown rode a 250 on the West for a couple of rounds. Other than that I don't ever recall a PC rider moonlighting the SX class.

I understand your point but do you really think that they would judge his ability to perform next year on a 450 based on any performance he might have hopping on a different bike with not much seat time late in the season versus riders who have been riding them all season?

I would be more concerned with the chance of an injury due to lack of seat time.

Right now everyone knows that he is a very controlled, very technical rider with an unbelievable amount speed. That should carry over well to the large bores.

And yes getting injured due to lack of seat time should be a consideration.

I was very worried about Carnard when he jumped on the big bike. He made the transformation well and I personally believe that he is an even better rider on the large bores than he is on the lites bikes. Things might not work out so well for CP and I don't think his management is willing to take that chance.

I know that I wouldn't.

An early green bike deal might sweeten the pot though, possibly helping in the championship points. And yes, Trey adopted qucikly and very well which is definetely not a given for any rider moving up in size, no matter their ability.

In this vid at the 1 minute mark, he says he is going to race the 450 this year. We shall see.

He also has a real hunger to win the east/west thing again. I think it ranks higher on his list than test-driving a 450.

I think that the last PC rider to do that was Mcgrath...seemed to work well for him

If/when he does, he will be up front in the mix for the win...
He will do at least as well as Canard did and I'm thinking probably better.
