I must admit... I'm little excited over getting to see Christophe Pourcel back on a 250f.

I'm not such a big fan over his personality but his ridingstyle is really something special. Effortless and smart lines...like Bayle, Everts and Windham.

Really hope that he rides thru all the outdoors and makes his career turn over to something great. I'm not sure how his back problems are these days but I guess he learnt to deal with it.

Even if he only gets top 5 at best, still great to see him out there again !
And if the rumours are right, the old factory Yamaha team has really stepped up for Pourcel's US comeback so would also be cool to see the blue crew get back to the old days as a winning team.

The rumours are that Pourcel is riding really good at the moment. But wane see it before I believe it !
Amazed that we haven't seen more vids or at least pics of him riding yet ?! Only seen one video so far.

Anyone got some more on who the new team manager is for Valli Yamaha ?

My prediction is that Pourcel will turn some heads this summer... He is on a great bike with strong team around him. He has a lot of experience, and should be able to use that to his advantage racing with the kids.

The only thing that can really go wrong is his mindset. If he only can stay positive and don't expect to much to early, if think this can be a good summer for the Pourcel crew !

Any news on what mxgear Pourcel will use this summer ? I guess he won't be in UFO gear when the gate drops at Glen Helen !

I'm very excited as well to see how Pourcel will do. I think he will be 5-7 guy at first but probably have some better days once he gets back to pace. Regardless, it will be awesome seeing him out there!

Are you guys kidding? He is going to win every race that Baggett can't play catch up. Lets see 2 time world champion. He just missed winning 2 championships in this same class in the US. He won 2 GP's in the 450 GP's just over a year ago beating Cairoli. Hell, he has beaten RV in lites SX. He shouldn't be in the class. He first raced the lites class 10 years ago. I hope Baggett, Musquin, Anderson, Webb, someone can match his race craft. It will take way more than speed to beat Pourcel in a championship.

Your post seems very sarcastic, but it's hard to really know on this site if someones joking or being serious. It's been a while since Pourcel has raced in America. Last time he did, it wasn't half as glorious as the picture you just painted of him. I hope he does well too, but damn, I'll be you $$$ he isn't going to win the championship.

Hope he stay's calm and collected... no drama queen ! That's the only thing that can hurt his progress in my eyes.

But he should have matured by now.

How old is he... 26-27 ?

I like CP but i'll be surprised if he makes the whole series. Good on him if he does, I hope he proves me wrong, but come backs don't work well or at all and he's had some fairly flaky application even at his best of times. I don't blame him, his injuries seem to hang over his head a lot but I just get this feeling like it won't work out.

Especially chasing Deano, Bagget, and the rest of the very very hungry lites class.

I'm with you guys who are supporting him. I know he gets a lot of flack from a lot of fans of the sport....but I for one am glad he's getting back into the racing here. Dude has always had such a great style and his line choices he makes on the track are incredible. He is one of THEE best dudes out there on finding new , smooth lines.......and he makes it look so damn simple.

Hope things work out for him this summer....as I'd like to see him stick around for a while.

Why are these riders allowed to sandbag. He's had his time on the small bikes. Time to move up.

Pourcel has the potential to win it for sure. I think Deano will have something to say about that though. If Musquin is healthy, he will be a contender for sure.

He's a strange one, but his talent is unreal considering his health situation. I don't care for him, but I love his riding still. He's very stationary on the bike and seldom moves.

In this small community it is. Not one sighting or word since...It just seems strange that nobody has seen or heard anything since....Everyone else is testing and has been seen...It's just weird...

That's a pretty bold statement. What I think you forget is that he hasn't raced a national in well over two years. Wilson, Baggett, Anderson, Webb, Bogle, and Osbourne have all been racing while Pourcel has been riding the couch. I think people sometimes overlook or underestimate the importance of racing. I put him top 10 I think his time off will hinder him more than you think
