Lately the trend with me and my buddies has been to take it way back to the early form of pitbikes.
We've been just putting a few comfort/controls type parts on them and leaving the motors alone. No real jumps, and just wear in a turn track wherever. May be slow, but its competitive for almost everyone and an absolute blast! We've mostly been riding them in a little 1 acre backyard in a city they live in. No one can hear them over the highway noise either, so its a win all around!

I have a mod 110 that needs a new output shift. It's an 05 so it was going to break one of these days. I was heating up the clutch in the garage and it snapped. So mad I couldn't go riding the next day.

Going to save my money and do a 143 v2 trail bikes top end. already has a 4tg gear drum but whoever I bought it from didn't replace the output shaft!

yeah we used to do the same except we would put a 70 kit in them, one day we had about 10-15 at my house and we had a killer track set out and every one was kinda same pace so it was so competitive, so much fun and suuuper aggressive haha
I've got video of it somewhere if thread is still kicking around tomorrow I'll throw it up

It was a "fad" for most, as most things are, but I loved it so much I rode by myself and loved every minute of it.
I still love watching 3rd gear pinned, 50 nuts, and Fad. RIP Travis Hart.

I had to have one of these when they came out... Great Engine, but that was about it. We bought it from the shop that was supporting me when I rode GasGas, and they had to get me another set of forks pretty much a couple of days after riding it. You'd compress them and they would stay compressed. Same with the second set... Bike sold.Laughing

Laughing Just thought it was funny that as soon as a pit bike thread popped up you posted... I always enjoyed your TV land reports.
Also, was anyone else here a member of 50riders.com? Man 'Tampon Tea', (he was a big part of Fad), was classic.Woohoo

Laughing I never thought the XR would be as popular with it's pissy little spokes and flimsy look. I wanted a Z50 just before the XR was released but decided to put an Alpine sound system in my van instead.Silly That thing is sick Pete!

EDIT: I mean daddy bought an Alpine sound system for me instead, I was too young to drive.

That's tits...Cool My mate had a couple of custom Z50's, Greg Timmins had some sweet Z's too, (before the aftermarket craze), with parts from other bikes. You definitely have your shit dialled.Smile

I get a few laps in at my house a few times a week. I have a crf 50 with bbr goodies and marzocchi forks and a xr100. It's funny because I live in a super private neighborhood but my property is surrounded by a wall of giant palms and no complaints for ten years. I keep my yard pristine besides the one line in my track. It has a triple that I can jump straight on or corner to corner and any direction. It's a lot off fun to get the blood flowing. We have had three 50's going round and round about 6 inches from each other or bouncing off each other. Fun stuff. My foot peg broke off my xr on landing Saturday but no crash or pain so all is good. Just weird.

Pitbikes are still hanging on here in North Texas (DFW area), this was our gate yesterday at Burleson MX Park, 23 riders.

That looks like a gate from 2006. Are you sure that was yesterday ??

Great to see there is still enthusiasm.

Haha. Yes sir! We average about 15-20 riders every race. We've kind of reminded people around here what pitbikes are all about, just having fun with your buddies, and our numbers have been growing ever since.

we had tons or races like that back in the day, good for you guys, the problem that we ended up with is exactly what you said, HAVING FUN WITH YOUR BUDDIES, then some fukstick comes in starts a race series and makes rules, thats all fine and good until said fukstick is more interested in making himself money than eveyone having fun, money ruins everything

Alph.....that is a fond memory.

Maybe a few of you noticed who was lurking on the very inside of that first turn....?? Dry

He was at his funniest at those events.
