I was wondering when this would come up. Was definitely 'creative'

I'm sure he wasn't the only one, and we've definitely seen riders expand the track in some sections where a corner blows out or runs wide, but this..... this is pretty bad.

judging by the line already being but it wasnt THAT creative as others were using it. He just happend to be on tv when he did. Also something i noticed for the first time at the track. They are now using big plactic barriers on the inside of turn to what seems like an attempt at stopping this

They've had those things for awhile but it seems like they're using them more and more frequently. I seem to remember Stewart getting tangled with one a couple of years back. He also almost tagged one on the last lap at Freestone in 2012 or 2013.

I heard Ronnie Stewart started using it and everyone followed. Heard he's only a factory ride away from a podium.

I have always found the yellow markers more as "suggestions" than the edge of track.

From what I've seen in recent years, there are no track boundaries. Run off the track,,,,, don't worry about it. Enter wherever you feel 'safe'. Miss the jumps, ruts, whole straightaways,,,,,, hey, as long as you don't gain a position right? It stinks.

Peick hit one in the first moto. It was in the asterisk rig after the race.

There should be no gaps for people to cut thru like Dungey did @ Indiana start of moto 1 last year.

If they bust thru the barriers block the holes...

I call BS on singling Weston out on this as he was not alone as others have posted. Weston only took the line after seeing Anderson take it. . John Slater has pictures of 3 other riders plus there was an AMA official taking numbers then Race Director Jeff Canfield came over to take a look after making sure Kevin Rookstool was transported.

Just another reason I have to hate those WORTHLESS Acerbis markers.

Was waiting for this story.

Look, it's Jake Weimer, give me 500 bucks.

In all seriousness though, it's pretty fucked. Easy way to fix that is put a shit ton of dirt on the inside of the corners and make it hecticly off camber

Ho Andy! Long time no hear from. GH this weekend?

TriRacer-PLEASE change the title of this thread to remove Weston's name. If he was the only one it would be appropriate but he wasn't and it's not.

I've seen this happen at every national I've ever attended. Sometimes its more obvious than others and the camera placement just so happen to catch this one. Just takes one guy to do it, and most follow if it's the faster or smoother line.

Right, don't want to hurt the rider's feelings for getting caught on TV cutting the track.

(Quote didn't work - was quoting The Rock saying thread title should be changed)

I said in a previous post that I'm sure he wasn't the only one, even before others mentioned who else they saw.

Just because others are doing it too doesn't make it right. I like Weston but he's the only one the camera showed. If it had showed others I would've included them too.

A bunch from around 4th through 9th were doing every lap the second moto. Then a guy showed up and stood there and started writing down numbers. They pretty much all stoped as soon as the guy with a clipboard started standing there. They knew it was cheating. That's why they all stopped.

The number of times I see those yellow barriers and think there is a yellow flag out is ludicrous. They should be a different color to the danger / medic flags.

They've just gotta be high visibility, other than that i'm not fussed on what colour they are...

My question to Rock is more what would you rather see line the track? Fences, bales and rope etc all pose safety hazards. If people are caught cheating that is ok, fine em, drop points etc, but what else might you use?

These guys are programmed to look for every advantage!
