He at least went faster on the interstate than the others...not bad for his second restrictor race

Cool!

He tweeted this week about practicing drafting at 'Dega - hopefully he can find a partner or two tomorrow!

At Daytona it was brutal watching him try to be competitive without anyone willing to push him.

Simply because he was uncomfortable with pushing at 200mph.

he should draft with Danica...I kid, I kid. TP60 has done really well this early in the season, especially considering that a good number of cup regulars run in the early season races. Travis really needs to shine during the summer months when the nationwide series is at different tracks then cup.

He's had some very good runs, not necessarily finishes, at a wide variety of tracks. I'm very encouraged; his future in the sport is bright.

This.

Blue oval's have the steam, and Roush probably gave him the "maybe" motor. Makes the most power and MAYBE it'll last. Rookies get those a lot. Clint won the pole at his first dega in the 2004 Busch race. Led a lot, got spun on last lap, finished P27.

TP hooks up with fellow Fords Bayne, Hornish, or Logano and he'll be fine for the GWC at the end.

I believe Tony Stewart once said "a drunken orangutan could qualify at Daytona and Talladega."

Still cool though.

Was that before or after Tony's driver Danica Patrick got the pole at Daytona?

Congrats Travis!

Mad props, huge TP fan. But gawdam his driving suit makes him look like a fag. Could you imagine lining up at a SX dressed like this? Maybe its just me, or else its the combo of baby blue, yellow, pink and white.

OK, makes sense now because I'm also not a big fan of the way his car looks. What a goofball, the 80's were bad.

heh heh Crash.

These car guys have nothing on our own birds-of-paradise clown suits. Picture a parrot dressed up like Bozo - a full on battle dress which only the fastest (coolest) guy "guy" at the track can pull off.

Not that there's anything wrong with that.

I find it amusing that guys bring up the restrictor plate and make it sound like it has nothing to do with driving. Lets see how you would do going 200mph bumper to bumper, not as easy as it looks. If it was easybthese guys would not be flying to the races in ther own Lear jets and helicoptors

That looks tougher than getting the pole at dega, only need deep pockets to get pole at Nascar dega, need to bench press and do setups all your life to do that shit. although I will stick to ICE COLD BUD-LIGHT and watch TP tomorrow if its not raided out.

I believe he is still competing with a Dodge Dart in all of his rally-based activities.

How did this race go for TP?
travis was running really well it was early and was doing some tandem drafting with about 3 groups up front. he was working with his teammate Trevor Bayne, but when running 7th Reed Sorenson in front of him got loose and turned sideways by his drafting partner Brian Scott and right into the path of TP60 heavily damaging his car and putting a end to his race. he wound up finishing 36th. he was way too hard on himself in the interview, he did nothing wrong it was just a racing deal.
