Didnt Schaefer (sp?) say he was going to be out there all week completely re-doing the track?

a friend of mine went to check it out yesterday and sent me some pics, looks like there is still a lot of work to do to bring it up to a national level.

I was there yesterday talking to a track worker. This next week they will literally be living at the track working everyday non-stop up until the national. I guess the track is going to be made a bit more difficult as well as widened for the pros. Its absolutely amazing how much work has been done there in such a short amount of time. For anyone that things this national at Pala is going to be crappy, pointless, and not worth watching, no disrespect to you, but youre absolutely out of your mind. I live less than 30 minutes away and have been riding there often since its opened, and I can DEFINITELY see the hard work theyve put in there. I for one, cannot wait for next weekend.

I wonder how good spectating is going to be? Track looks great though. Looks like the type of track that needs some grandstands though.

Not sure what PJ you think i am, but I definitely am not that person. I dont even ride at a level good enough to leave the county I live in, yet alone race on another continent haha.

Man that looks like it's built on a landfill. No trees, grass, nothin'. It's an outdoor supercross from what I could see on that vid. It might be a good race but it sure don't seem like motocross.

Anyone know what the deal for pit passes are at pala? Don't see any mention except in the VIP package.

that track does look sweet but I agree with others, kinda looks plane jane. Like an outdoor SX. Also didnt see much that would amount to a unique feature IE "Screw you" "Horsepower Hill" "10 commandments" Larocco's leap" "skyshot". There doesnt look to be anything super impressive. This year the track doesnt need anything to stand out due to the 250 race. I think we are in for a treat this year with Canard and Poucel regardless of the track.

The only times I have ridden at Pala was a couple of times this past May, when I was visiting in Cali for the USGP. I became a huge fan of the Pala facility and the folks there who work there.

That said, the new track will be quite special if only from the standpoint it hasn’t ever hosted a National. It has the potential for being the proverbial “even playing field”.

I sure hope it doesn’t become a one-line freight train of a race, in comparison with say, the Steel City track.

got some work to do, but it looks like the viewing should be better than average.

I'm expecting a lot of the green grass spray paint for next weekends live show.

The track reminds me of the old Troy, OH. All flat with man made jumps but one hillside they can go up and down a couple times. I've ridden both tracks and would prefer to ride Troy due to better dirt. The racing this weekend should be good though, Pala does get pretty rough and they will till it deep for sure.

Exactly what I thought...TOO PLAIN and no character at all to distinguish its own identity...maybe it will be called the Pala landfill national..............the powers that be can surely do better than this.........Unsure

This track is 100% completely new. Anyone who said they have ridden at Pala in the past, except for this last weekend and a 2 weeks leading up to it, hasn't ridden this track. As stated, they are improving this track all week. (that is, from the vid you see) Remember, vids don't show elevation very well.

As for the scenery, who gives a shit? You don't race on trees and bushes do you? ( or maybe you do!)Remember, it's MX!

Guess you guys are used to sand, hardpack and rocks. Maybe a cactus or two!!!

W00t

Trees and bushes = GNCC, harescrambles, enduros.
