I'm hearing a lot of bad feedbacks from the local tracks on the PSF's. I just sold my 450 and looking for a new steed. Most likely a leftover '13 if I can grab one to save a little
Cash. I'm told the zook with the ssf is the way to go. I've seen all the 13/14 450 shoot outs but I take those with a grain of salt. I've been on red since '05 and have had 3 new honda 450s since and I can honestly say if it wasn't for the psf I would of already made another purchase. I suppose my other option is finding a set of old kyb's off '09-'12 and swapping them onto a new crf..but Id rather just buy a new bike and ride then worrying about all that. Is anyone else hesitant with the air forks like me? What are you all doing?

How is that? Suspension is extremely personalized. Here is the common feedback, maybe it'll help with your decision.
Air forks: Less feedback transferred from the ground to your hands. That means you feel less bumps and have a lighter feeling front end. Keep in mind, I said you FEEL less bumps is the feedback, not that the bike reacts less to bumps. Some riders love it because it's easier on the hands, while others like to feel the track under them. As far as the cornering, some guys love the feel, but those who can't get used to the lighter feeling front end can't feel the traction in the turns and put their wheel where they want it.
Spring Forks: More feedback from the ground to your hands. You feel the ground more and have a front end easier to find where it's at in corners.
It's seriously a mix of guys. As far as issues, I'm not on the tech side so I don't see everything that comes through, but I haven't really heard or seen much for issues. Even guys with seals leaking have been able to clean them out and bandaid through a day much of the time.
Could be an option for you.
The Shop
Thanks riesenberg for the info- I'll take all of that into consideration.
Those are good prices at Cernics Trav, unfortunately I'm nowhere near them.
Little bit of freight and no out of state sales tax. Just saying.
