So i have been looking for a kx 125 project for a few months now. I had little luck finding anything that wasn't a destroyed farm bike. A friend tipped me off about a clean kx in the area. when i finally got in touch with the owner on facebook he said the bike was already sold to a buddy and he was picking it up in a few weeks.. After a month of text messages i finally own the bike. i could not be happier! i am still looking for a set of clamps, clutch lever, misc parts.

Nice find! I guess you already know, but looks to be an ex PC team bike, and perhaps previous owner knew someone at pc based on a few of the newer KXF parts too (PC edition front disc kit, HAAN wheelsets sold through PC etc)...

Stand-out bits like the Carbon waterpump guard tabs welded to the frame (although good luck finding the actual guard if you don't have one with the bike), The carbon clutch/ignition cover/sprocket guard bits etc too, but mainly the left hand oem radiator extension - looks just like the ones on the c.2001 Mike Brown outdoor machine!

Thanks. Yea Iam not sure who's bike it originally was but it does have a lot of the parts that would have been on a pc bike from that time. Do you have any photos of the carbon water pump guard?

I noticed all that stuff, pretty slick, shame it didnt have the PC linkage or clamps. Pretty trick tho. Bike is an 03 I assume?

I know Iam bummed it was missing those parts also. It's a 03-frame, 2005 motor.

That bike is legit. Has the frame tabs welded, extra capacity radiators, the brown anodized caliper bracket up front, that is a tuned pipe not stock, and the forks are kitted forks. That bike was probably used for Loretta Lynn's is what the Mx sports sticker is at some point once it left pro circuit. It was more than likely a race bike at one time. PC practice bike usually didn't have all the welded tabs. They used kitted forks for practice and A kit for racing. At the end of the season they took some of the race drama and put the best practice parts on them and sold the bikes. Usually they didn't put the carbon fiber stuff on them. The carbon stuff was available to the public in 03 so they probably just left it on. They ran a white magnesium clutch case also. I bet that bike is fast. Cool find. By the way who did your Plano Honda shark decals. Shoot me an email I can help you out with some parts you need.

04+ (frame)/swingarm. The swingarm has those little black covers protecting a linkage bolt. The 03 did not have this.

The 125cc restoration builds are hands down my favorite part about this website.

Yes Stewart was on a 125, but he was not any where near a pro circuit 125. There are some different things going on with that bike. It has 03 forks and 04 rear. I wonder if it may have been bike prepped for 04. Def a cool bike. If the engine has numbers that can be a tell of what year the motor is.

I'm a sucker for 125 builds.
I'm really a sucker for Kawasaki builds

A KX 125 pro circuit build that potentially was used by Stewart is pretty much the whole Grail.

Lil trick parts or not, I'm jealous, you beat my 125 build and you didn't even do one yet haha. But I'd much rather know how does it run!?

And granted its still in somewhat original form that's an 03 seat cover, 04 had no silver on seat cover. So IF it was a team riders bike, it could of been Sorby, Walker, Brown, Buckelew, that was 03 team. People that are thinking it was an old Stewart bike would be way off, factory 125 was much different then the PC125. I'd say an 03 team bike that later got some upgrades, (04+ swingarm and the 05? said motor, and the wheel sets, they didnt run those wheelsets/rotors back then)

Did walker actually race the 125? I remember him being on 250f's in the Nationals. Maybe a few supercross races.
