ROCKSTAR ENERGY HUSQVARNA FACTORY RACING EXTENDS CONTRACTS FOR JASON ANDERSON AND CHRISTOPHE POURCEL

Rockstar Energy Husqvarna Factory Racing is pleased to announce the extension of Jason Anderson’s contract through 2018. His proven ability during his 450 rookie season was highlighted with continued successes in Supercross, as well as AMA Pro Motocross Championship Series. “I’m very excited about this opportunity with the Rockstar Energy Husqvarna team”, said Jason. “To have my deal go through 2018 makes it easy for me to focus on the goal of delivering results, and nothing else,” he continued.

Anderson has contributed to the thriving team dynamic and overall success of the team. Team Manager, Bobby Hewitt, speaks highly of Anderson, stating “Jason and I have built a great working relationship and we feel the same way about what we want to accomplish together.”

Rockstar Energy’s Marketing Director, Mike Kelso, shares his excitement, “I couldn’t be happier that I get to watch my longtime friend and Rockstar Energy athlete, Jason Anderson, continue to carry the Rockstar flag into the future.”

In addition, Rockstar Energy Husqvarna Factory Racing is equally as excited to announce the contract extension of the team’s newest member, Christophe Pourcel, through 2017. Husqvarna Head of Motorsports, Robert Jonas explained, “Having Christophe compete alongside Jason in Supercross is an important step forward. Christophe is a highly skilled racer, with championship winning experience to match.”

Since signing with the team in April 2015, Pourcel has challenged the top contenders and has had close battles, even landing on the podium. His time off proved not to be a factor as he makes a strong comeback to the world of motocross. “I truly believe he has found his home with Rockstar Energy Husqvarna Factory Racing,” said Bobby Hewitt. “Christophe Pourcel has not only proven to be a team asset on the track, but has also become an intricate part of the overall positive team personality at Rockstar Energy Husqvarna Factory Racing,” commented Mike Kelso.

Christophe enthusiastic, stated “I’m really excited to continue with the Rockstar Energy Husqvarna Factory Racing team and look forward to starting my 450 Supercross career. I am also looking forward to racing the new 2016 Husqvarna Motorcycles and bringing even more success to the brand and team.”

“Continuing to work with both Christophe Pourcel and Jason Anderson throughout the 2016 Supercross and Motocross season is something Husqvarna is very pleased about. Both riders delivered some great results during the 2015 450 motocross championship. With the support of the Rockstar Energy Husqvarna Factory Racing team, we have big hopes for what Christophe and Jason will achieve next season,” Robert Jonas elaborated.

At the conclusion of the 2015 AMA Pro Motocross season, Pourcel finished 5th in points and Anderson 6th in points. Both riders will transition to the newly redesigned model year 2016 Husqvarna FC 450 and prepare to battle the field at the MXGP of USA, to be held at Glen Helen Raceway on September 20th, 2015.

Will Husky be on the new bike at the MEC?

Never mind, last line would indicate so.... sort of... if they'll be there.

It's good to see CP377 finally get a legit 450 ride...
It'll be interesting to see how he does in SX, for sure

waaaaaaaaay cool to see...two of my favorite guys out there. kinda cool to see the sport maybe start moving to longer term deals. never made much sense to me to sign a guy to a 1 year deal, he gets injured or has a bad season, then they toss them to the side like nothing after investing so much time and money.

CP is a player next year I bet, with much more comfort on the bike.
I love his line choices, so smooth. He's almost robotic and it's as if the other riders on the track aren't even there.

both of those guys did awesome this season, CP outdoors and JA in-out.

really impressed with Pourcel though, after the first couple races everyone was back on the "hate-CP377" wagon and he said he wanted to be top 5 through the year and at the end. well, he finished on the podium multiple times and ended up 5th at the season's end... i'd say his goals were definitely met. awesome to see, huge fan here

Very good move by Husky. Nice to see teams starting to sign contracts longer than a year at a time.

Has there ever been a rider contract longer than 2 years prior to 2015? That's what the third 3 year.

Question is, is Pourcel's home in Florida still for sale? Did it ever get sold? Now when he has a solid contract will he stay down in Florida? Will he have the option with the new contract to bring his own gear sponsors? Sounded like he just got Airoh, Scott and Fly handed to him when he first signed. He's been pretty loyal to Ufo for the previous years.

I'm not 100% certain, but didn't robbie reynard sign a 3 year deal with kawi right out of the amateurs?

I definitely love that Pourcel is back in the game! An absolute fantastic rider to watch and very unique and gifted. He did pretty good this outdoors but I expected some better consistency. If he's not up there, then he's riding very lack luster around. I hope he will do well in Supercross. I expect top 5, perhaps a podium .. Hopefully more for the very smooth (and "crafty") Frenchman

Looks like the factories are trying to tie up guys for longer periods of time. I think for guys that have a good work ethic it is a great thing because it takes some pressure off.

Anderson has been on the team for 5 full seasons racing 3 different bike brands in the 250 and now 450 class. I think by now they know what they are getting with him and he knows what to expect from them. A 3 year (or longer) deal makes sense for both parties. Remember how rocky it started off that first season? Hard to imagine now.

Since then...Jason's grown up...A LOT. He OWNED his actions in the very beginning and apologized for his results! Who does that anymore? Furthermore, he thanked Bobby and the Team...this is back when he was, or he felt he was, F'ing up and not being focused enough. He laid it out and told them he'd get it right; and, he did. The following year he got up on the box. A year after that, he was in the mix. Then they get on the KTMs...
Jason wins SX-West. Since then, he moves up and follows his plan...

Get thru his rookie year HEALTHY & figure out the 450 SX & MX classes. Keep improving and DON'T do anything stupid (tho, Weston might argue with that last point

Have to wonder about the team 'dynamic' given JA & CP's different perceived (by me anyway) personas/ riding styles

I thought 3 year contracts were fairly common for the top guys prior to the economic crash around 2008.

RC4-Honda '02-'04

Didn't Josh Hanson have a 3 year $1.5 million dollar contract with KTM back in the day?
Matt Walker @ PC?
James Stewart @ Kawi?

Wonded if the team or Pourcel himself has made any attempts to ser up training with Aldon. I know he still has limitations due to past injuries but if anyone can figure ojtut a safe program for a rider it would def be Aldon.

Team did send Anderson back home to build up his fitness during first season or was it his team mate then?
Husky will have strong team and new bike should be even better for both.

LOL, I am sure it helps a lot CP to have a team mate who has strong personality, I remember he was I think much more easy going on his 2nd year with PC when Wilson came in.

Regarding Anderson & CP's signs. I think that is great for everyone involved, these riders really have a good potential so that is really cool to see them on a top team !
