I understand how the current points system works but...
250 Overall
1. Joey Savatgy (Kawasaki) 7-1
2. Zach Osborne (Husqvarna) 4-3
3. Dylan Ferrandis (Yamaha) 3-4
4. Adam Cianciarulo (Kawasaki) 2-5
5. RJ Hampshire (Honda) 6-2
Wouldn't it make better sense if you added the moto finishes together to determine the overall instead of points awarded?
1. Zach Osborne 4 + 3 = 7 *Overall winner based on 2nd moto finish
2. Dylan Fessandis 3 + 4 = 7
3. Adam Cianciarulo 2 + 5 = 7
4. Joey Savatgy 7 + 1 = 8
5. RJ Hampshire 6 + 2 = 8
It just seem to me the guys that finished 3/4 were more consistent and deserved to be placed higher on the podium.
You could still award event points the same per moto, just calculate the overall finish differently.
Thoughts?

I think it helps with confusion when you have results like yesterday, or when a guy goes 2-2 (44 pts.) and another goes 1-3 (45 pts.). I think the guy that earned the most points should get the nod. But I do get your point.
