After riding Saturday down here in Ga. in 90deg temps, I've come to the conclusion that I've gotta have me some ventilated gear. I don't typically ride too deep into the Summer, but since it (seemingly) rained for two months of the Spring, its pushing my riding a little further into the hot season. I haven't owned ventilated gear since JT was king back in the 80's. Thinking about the FLY Kinetic Mesh, since my closest shop stocks it, but my friend has some of the Moose stuff that he swears by. What are you guys using? Or, more importantly, is it even worth it?

Only way to ride is with ventilated gear, my choice is TLD and when it get cooler I put on a second shirt underneath.

Well worth it. Summer and winter. Ive run the old fox airline stuff for a while. Just started wearing the axo vented again this year. Taken a few spills and not a single stich missing. What ive seen on the fly stuff, elbows will rip on the jerseys, especially if you wesr elbow guards or pads. Pants hold up good though.

I've never been able to tell a difference in the vented pants or boots, but can with the jerseys.

I bought a set of the Fox 360 Savant Airline last week and wore it racing yesterday for the first time. It was 90+ degrees here in Texas yesterday and this gear made it feel much better than it actually was. The jersey is 100% mesh/vented and the pants are about as vented as they can be. This set it awesome! I've always been a fan of vented gear since it gets so hot down here and the key to a good set is how ventilated the pants are. Having a good breeze flowing through your upper legs feels great. If you ride in 100 degree heat I think a set of vented gear is a must.

Vented gear is all I ride in. I throw thermals on underneath in the super cold. I just like how light it feels. Both the fly and moose stuff is incredibly well vented. Big mesh holes over as much of the gear as is possible. The only downside is it's not as tough as standard gear. But, I've been very impressed with my fly stuff. As an added bonus, fly puts more back in to the sport than just about anybody right now.

Look at the Klim Mohave or XC line...I've ran their Mohave line for years, and just picked up the XC line, and I LOVE it.

Everyone hears Klim and thinks "to expensive" or "ugly"...not true these days. Their top of the line stuff is the same price as the other big brands, and I'd argue that the qualify is better.

living in Phoenix, i ride in vented gear year round. When it dips below 50 for winter night riding i throw some under armor on underneath to block the wind. Makes all the difference in the world when youre talking about 100 degree NIGHT TEMPS. good light socks, knee brace socks and gear are a must in the desert.
