I've heard they're not good. OEM or Hot Rod are supposedly the way to go...

Anyone tried the Wiseco cranks? If so I would like to know your opinion on how they worked. May use one or a YZ250, Thanks.
I put a Wiseco crank in a KX250, within one ride it shredded the right crank bearing. Thank God the kid who owned the bike had enough sense to shut it down when he noticed things weren't going right.

Called a rep, and he said Wiseco had quality control issues with their cranks, and weren't happy with their current supplier so were changing to another. Warrantied it out for me with a refund. That was about 1 1/2 years ago. The guy was truthful because for about 3 months I couldn't get a Wiseco crank (while the re-stocking was occurring), and I just wanted another crank kit rather than a refund.

So are they any better now? Don't know, haven't used them since. The only reason I'm posting is because even the company knew they had issues with their cranks. So you might not take the risk.

Yeah, I'm assuming the majority of them are just fine. They can't all be out of balance! No one would buy them.

I think in this case I was just one of the unlucky ones. And like I said, the rep said quality control was the issue, I.E. you might run across a bad one.

I just removed one from a CRF-250R with the left hand side of the crank broke off.

Garbage like their pistons.
I have had nothing but excellent luck with their pistons. I think they're a great product.

We put a Wiseco crank in a CR250 awhile back and it works great. Solid. If there was some QC issues I hope they've got them sorted.

I put a Wiseco crank in my YZ250 and everything is fine at 6+ hours on it. One hell of a deal and included the main bearings and bottom end gaskets.

See I've experienced the exact opposite of you in both motorcycles and cars. I will never build with them again.

Har! You're not going to be anxious about that crank though, are you?? Everytime she revs to 14k, you'll be shitting bricks now...

bite the bullet and go oem on this one. There are some parts you get get away with aftermarket, but I wouldn't try this one.
