EFI/DFI option in sleds (ski-doo) is about $2700-3000 more expensive than the carbureted brethren. I'm sure mxers will be lining up in droves to fork out even half that extra money...lol

That would make a very impressive off road /dune machine for sure! More than I could handle on the track though! Lol

EFI did not add 3 grand to the cost of a 250F or 450F. Really added next to nothing considering annual price hikes. Why would it be any more for a 2 stroke?

True. OEM carburetor is $600. OEM throttle body is $400.

The 250f and 450f are not DFI, but I do see your point. The move to EFI for a 4-stroke is not as expensive because you are swapping out the FCR carb for throttle body and those are relatively similar in prices (I think?), then add in the fuel pump and everything else should be close to the same right, at least in terms of pricing?

A PWK (or similar 2-stroke carb, can't remember what Ski-doo uses) is significantly cheaper than an FCR, and definitely much cheaper than a DFI setup. Granted that doesn't add up to $2700 so you still have a point.

The Kawi's would be nicer with a steel frame.

This is the kind of mentality that lead to 4-strokes taking over the market. The need for "new and shiny" when things are just fine. The KTM 125/150 and YZ125 are just fine the way they are. No need for DI tech. I guess I just don't see why someone would lust over a photoshopped 150 with DI when there's two great tiddler platforms out there that actually exist. If I had the cash, I'd go grab a '15 YZ125 right this second.

That's not to say that I wouldn't like to see new R&D on the 2-strokes, because of course I would. But DI seems like a slippery slope to 4-stroke like prices/yearly changes.

That's just my piece

Those look awesome. I like that plastic better than the new '16 KXF 450, although the engine on the 150 looks huge for a 150.

One day the penny will drop that fuel injected two stroke dirtbikes are not the magic solution everyone thinks they will be. Two strokes have been successful in bikes because they are light, simple and cheap. DFI two strokes won't be those things (well maybe lighter than a four stroke).
