Even if it's not Emig's bike, that's still a SUPER freakin' clean 97!!

It's definitely not his actual race bike considering there is stock suspension on there.

The front end seems to be of a newer bike. The rest is pretty much all Khi and works parts. The motor is missing the Khi inner case. Other than the forks and that magnesium clutch case there are some really sweet parts in that bike.

Yeah the rear hub and brake set up is. Swing arm is gussets and have the 25mm ti axle. I talked to him. He ended up selling it for 6k. I think he coulda got more but his photos were poor.

"97 was better (than '98)"
-Jeff Emig, responding to Tyler Bereman's comment in one episode of "East Coast is Toast" about 'taking it back to '98.'

These pics are WAY better than the ones on eBay! Those parts are all the real deal for sure. Engine mount bolts and clutch actuation arm look like factory parts too. The shock, pipe, hubs, and engine covers all look legit. Too bad the forks aren't on there.

In regards to the carb, if I remember correctly Kawasaki was modifying and shortening those carbs to get it closer to the reed cage. Yamaha did the same thing on some of McGrath's carbs (Ironically enough I know the guy who did those mods for Yamaha back in the day)

The carb is shortened so much it encroaches on the float bowl and it has to be epoxied back shut. That's why the reed cage is ground down for clearance as well. Crude but effective.

Sweet bike for sure, way to many legit parts to be a fake. It's certainly worth $6K+

Other than the obvious works forks, hub, etc it's missing the Works Connection aluminum case guards, works radiators, maybe the works chain guide, rear CF brake caliper guard, etc.

We took a pwk carb like that and machined it back to replicate those. It came out nice I just went to far in and got into the bo area. Going to attempt another one soon. Just sucks at 150.00 a pop once scrapped its done. I know on my PC Kx cases they even machined the intake area on the cases closer to the cumbustion area. Unfortunately I didn't get a carb with my motor. I'll make the attempt again soon. I'm kinda bummed on that Kx 250 I coulda got it as well. Just to many irons in the fire and it needs about 4-5k in parts to make it correct.

You guys hear that pod a little while back where Chad Watts was talking about RC's Kawis... he later elaborated in an MXA article. In 01 they were running 94 frames apparently and custom building the whole bike back up... I'd read before that the bike was super trick and also a couple riders had been quoted saying the 98 was backwards step from the 97....

I'd put SSS KYBs with old school KAYABA stickers on them and race it.
