Finally got it delivered the other day. Been sitting since probably 93. Filthy dirty, but loaded with potential!Lots of trick bits. Works forks, alloy tank, Mugen engine, alloy subframe, Acerbis plastics and Technosel graphics and seat cover. Going to clean everything up and ride it for a while.

Fine bike! Surprised it did not have the OTL aluminum air box/sub frame.

How did you come along this gem? Do they have any more? Definitely sweet.

Joe, where the heck do you find this stuff? You could put Todd Applegate out of business if you offered your services as a finder. Laughing

Found it on Ebay. Someone here posted a link I think to something else the guy had on Ebay several months back. I clicked on it and searched his other auctions. He had a few pretty interesting bikes for sale. Had it for sale locally too so he shot me a pretty fair price and the deal was done. Basically, someone here at Vital "made" me do it. Just wishing it had the Mugen rear shock and works swingarm.

nice ride, that used to belong to a friend of mine in CT. He got it new in 91 or whatever, rode it like 3 times and that was it. It sat in his garage....

Works swingarm? Greedy bastard. I sentence you to deposit some gold with Karl Landrus.

That's the one. Took me forever to line up a shipper that didn't need it crated. Such a cool bike.

Which shipping service did you use and how much did they charge?

i had one of those in 93. 92 eric kehoe leftover. coolest bike ever. started blowing head gaskets after a while and i got rid of it. i remember the suspension being super stiff and the seat was before they perfected gripper seats it was way to harsh.

Thats an awesome bike newman,im wondering if its one of Ty Davis,s old bikes, he used to race for on the line racing, and won the 1990 125 W SX title on one.

That was on the cover of the very first dirt bike magazine I ever bought, must have been may/June '91?

Very, very cool bike Newman, worthy of a build / clean up thread....

Awesome! I'd love to see a thread devoted to the restoration, as well.... Shit, I'd like to see such threads on every one of the sweet bikes you acquire.

I wish Vital had more threads like this and less of who twatted what about who and the endless attacks on riders and let's not leave out the 2 vs. 4 stroke threads. This shit is cool and a worthwhile read.

Does anyone remember the 125 that Motocross Action built around 91 or 92? They ran a short piece about Joel Robert having a 134 lb works 125, so they set out to build a brand new 125 that weighed the same... it was soooo super trick and had stuff like carbonfiber plastics and all kinds of neat little goodies. Anyone have a picture of it?

That 91 is a beautiful bike.

This is my all time favorite mugen though.. I actually ran the #N1 on my 1979 rm 60 one year.

Wow, that is awesome, one of the great things about living in the Midwest is great riding spots, the seasons etc. But, we NEVER have any bikes like this sitting around for sale. When we restore bikes, we work on getting the black spray paint off of everything on the bike. haha
