Could a 08 Stewart and the 06 Carmichael beat last year's tomac and roczen outdoors?
Friendly wager on this question.

You wouldnt think so, but the levels of the sport haven't changed that drastically since then. Also I would never bet against Ricky....even 10 years later. Then if you get Bubba on a "good day" that also figures into it. Interesting to think about.

If they were all in the same era, probably. But when you go back and watch those vids of them 10 years ago, they are going a lot slower then Tomac and Kenny.

Not a chance. Bikes today are way better and alot of racers have a program that's on those guys level if not better for those who have that evolved program. I would say 4-5th at best.

Nope. But RV2 would have willed a win into existence

The bikes are similar enough outdoors, SX sure but outdoors no difference... And comparing speeds by video is redundant... different track conditions each day and if any of you think you can visually be accurate estimating speeds you've got your head up your ass.

The only way to compare peak "what-ifs" you have to find exchange points of direct competition... JS rode around in front of Dungey for the first few rounds of 12, Chad rode around in front of RV and Dungey for much of 11.... Dungey has beaten and been beaten by Eli and Kenny... so they're speeds are probably all pretty similar...

If you look at 06/07 RC and James, they had races where they were close but also quite a few where RC just plain beat him down.

He was a freak. He'd wear on James most of the time and get him like that, but if you watch High Point 07 and a few others, he was pure beast mode.

Hold a race in heaven, RC would likely find a way to win against all of them and RV would push him all the way.

2008 wasn't James fastest year...he went 24 - 0 but he was faster IMO when RC was on the track.

RC at his best IMO was on the Honda 4 stroke...not sure the year (04) but he was dominant against a very good field of riders.

Eli on the Honda a few years back was the fastest I've seen anyone go around an out door mx track....

To answer OP question, no.

'06 RC would beat any rider at his prime on any outdoor track, 8 times out of 10. The other two times would not be the same rider, either.

You can't be serious? Barcia and Filthy Phil finished 4th and 5th overall last year.

RC is the GOAT because he was so consistently fast for so long. That doesn't mean he's the fastest guy to ever run a race. There have been plenty other superfast guys over shorter periods. They would all very very competitive with each other for one race, in their primes.

Depends on the track.

Hangtown: Tomac 15, Stewart 08, RC 04.

Glen Helen: Stewart 06/08 or Tomac 15.

ThunderValley: Stewart 08

Mt Morris: RC

BuddsCreek: RC or RV 07 on the 250f

RedBud: RC

MuddyCreek: Roczen

Southwick: RC

Unadilla: Roczen or KDub

Millville: RC or Dungey

Washougal: KDub or Dungey would be odds on Favorite.

Ironman: Roczen

The 94 was pretty comfortable last year. Some weekends he didn't even look like he was pushing.

Last week I re-watched the 2013 MX season. RV was stupid fast that year. Passing JS7 and RD around the outside on several occasions. Literally wide open on that 450.

Are the bikes that much better? Isn't the bike that just won the national championship the same basic design that Stew competed against in '08?

RC was the fastest of them all over a whole season. JS7 was the fastest at any given time in my opinion and I'm a huge fan. But if I had to rank them in order it would be.

RC # 1

RV # 2

JS7 # 3

Dungey # 4

Someone please photoshop a 10 year old Bob Hannah into this pic for me. Preferably with the trophy girl thrown over his shoulder! We would all be wondering what happened to these three, because the Hurricane would have wiped them all off the map.

**And please have your sarcasm detectors calibrated before you make some stupid reply.**
