Was Leo your brother? He was faster than he got credit for, if he was in So Cal he would have been a top AA. I remember watching him throw away the A Pro win in the last corner at Chandler in 81(I was in 4th I think). I have that main on video by the way, I'll have to pull it out and burn it to DVD before the tape turns to dust.

Who's the guy with 307? That dude must suck with such a big number.

#3 is Jeff Whitbrought(sp), another guy who would have been a much bigger name if he wasn't from BFE.

Who cares, probably works in the backroom at some Walmart in the Midwest, weighs 300 pounds, drives a Ford Taurus, and spends all his free time on message boards playing internet cop.

Yes, my younger brother. He was a fast dude on the bicycles. Thanks for the kind words.

My old roomy Gibby!

I like telling the story of when Steve and I were roommates at Rob "Bronco" Beckering's Grandma's house in Lakewood..(1982-1983). We would ride our bmx bikes (SE PK Rippers) to local drugstore to look at moto magazines. One night Steve's looking though MXA and says..."I took this"...cool pic of Mark Barnett at Saddleback. He submitted to MXA and the ran it. I think he got $10 or $15 dollars. Start of his moto pics career!

They are still around and building bikes too! It is amazing how many BMX brands from the early 80s are still around. The one I miss and wish was still around, JMC.

Cool pic BTW OP!! Lots of #1s for GT back then.
