How many will be healthy and competitive at round 8?

I think this is our sport's Achilles Heel. I know I'm being Captain Obvious, but it seems the same every single season.

So what's your guess?

There's 22 riders in a main. I say 17 will make the main at round 8 that make it at A1.

I go to the season-opening press conference every year, look at the riders sitting up there, and wonder how many of them will make it to the end.

Which is why I think there should be some sort of playoff/chase system. Get injured early but have a chance to win if you heal up in time. Barcia is a perfect example of someone who would benefit from a playoff format.

Admit it...

You actually are thinking to yourself: Can we PLEASE have all these guys make it to Vegas?

Oh, trust me, I'd LOVE it if that happened. But I'm also enough of a realist to know that the chances of that happening are extremely low.

But it would suck, even worse, for the one who gets 'injured, late'.

I'd love to see a season where all of the top guys stay healthy. It would be a great thing for SX to actuallly see every rider race to his potential.

I'm dreaming.

I may have been optimistic when I started this thread.

Holy crap, they're dropping like flies.
