Ok I know this is just a forum so bench racers AND bench track owners/promoters are to be expected. But think a little, buy your own property and equipment get the permits put up the money for big pro purses and then run it how everyone else wants you to run it and see how long you will keep it up. Also Riders at ANY level dont like to do 2 practices then 2 qualifiers then 4 20 + min. motos all crammed in one day. Then if you just did 450 one day then 250 the next it would dissapoint the spectators who cant attend both days. I think what it comes down too is with the economy right now alot of people just cant afford to be slacking or take Monday off like they could a couple of years back . Lets see how it goes. Ask the track to pay 1st motos on sat night so people who have to hit the road ... can... think about it it still makes it a 12,500 purse for Sat. still one of the best purses around all year. Well anyways I dont expect everyone to "get it" on this site. Just saying from years of experience. Ive seen alot of good tracks and events dissapear over the years.
Again Thank you Swan for putting on this event and thanks to all the tracks that pay back to the Pro's and put up with everyone. I think all track owners should make a decent living . But thats rare. In the long run its usually a wash. I really wish there was a forum where motocrossers and fans could just share good positive info about the sport.

EVERY MOTOCROSSER SHOULD LEARN TO SUPPORT YOUR PROMOTERS . WHEN A GUY PUTS UP THIS MUCH MONEY FOR A PRO RACE EVERY YEAR FOR THIS MANY YEARS ITS AN AWESOME THING . NOT EVERYDAY THIS KIND OF RACE HAPPENS. YOU SHOULD TRY YOUR BEST TO SUPPORT HIM NO MATTER WHAT. ITS NOT EASY TO RUN A TRACK AND MAKE ALL YOU WHINERS HAPPY! IF IT SUCKS JUST TELL HIM AFTERWARDS. BUT DONT START BLACKBALLIN A TRACK FOR TRYING. OBVIOUSLY THERE MUST BE A REASON FOR IT. FYI TEVIN DIDNT REALIZE THIS AND BOOKED A PLANE FLIGHT OUT OF THERE SUNDAY. I TOLD HIM LAST NIGHT ABOUT THE SUNDAY MOTOS SO HE HAD TO GET HIS TICKET CHANGED. ANYWAYS THANKS TO EVERYONE AT SWAN FOR PUTTING ON THIS RACE EVERY YEAR.
Rod has it going on.

Dividing the motos might actually increase gate revenue. For example, if a one day format draws 1000 spectators, a two day may bring in 600 each. Now, I'm no math, whiz, but 600+600 is more than 1000. It's just a theory, and it might not hold water, but while a few die-hards dislike the format, the overall return could net greater returns. Guess we'll know around October 3rd...

I will be there. The schedule looks good, its laid back. Trey has a lot of racing going on for the weekend and this way seems better for the pro riders. The way the schedule was, made everything so hectic and we only got like 30 min to rest and would have to be back on the line. It was like an outdoor national, trying to fit too much into one day. I dont understand why everyone wants to do everything in one day and go home. I like making it a whole weekend if im gonna spend the money to go. Oh and I like it having some racing on Sunday.

just a little heads up for everybody, demuth is in shape and on his game right now, he went 1-1-1-1 in 4 pro motos yesterday against the likes of tapia, millican, gracyk, wennerstrom, etc. The guys at buffalo creek put on an amazing event! This weekend at swan should be a continuation of the great racing we see every year from the texas 2 step!!!

This was sent out this morning about taking pictures at swan, interesting I think

Attention Photographers:
We at Swan MX have always welcomed photographers. Recently, we have added some limitations to help maintain your safety. We have not stopped anybody from taking photos, we have just enforced some safety guidelines. You are more than welcome to take photos and videos, as long as you stay behind the safety fences. There are plenty of opportunities to take good photos/videos from behind the fences. We are sure that the spectators will be glad to yield to your efforts. You must sign in at the tower to receive a vest to help ensure that the spectators will give you the right-of-way. If you are not selling your work, we will not charge you a vendor fee, but we will enforce the new guidelines. We will want a copy of your unedited photos, and or videos, and we will be glad to give you full credit if we use or display any of your work. Thank you to those of you who can understand our concerns. We hope you enjoy the 19 Annual Texas Pro Challenge event!

Yeah, that's going to be a bit limiting. Funny. I took the pics they included in the e-mail to illustrate the danger.

well.... day one is in the books, what went down
Lance Vincent came over from Louisiana and put in a couple of pretty good rides on his Honda, easily winning the 250s and keeping it close with Kyle Regal in the 450s, along with Chris Plouffe (also on a Honda). Ricky Renner also had a nice ride in the Open class on the KTM. Tevin Tapia rode the Munn Racing 350 KTM in the open class, but was back a ways from the leaders.

I have about 600 pics to go through. Lots more later.
