This is another video Yamaha put out to celebrate Dan Laporte's 1982 250 World Motocross title. It has highlights from the 82 season. Again it is very old and the quality is not great but it is pretty damn cool.

Why does Laporte appear to be riding an air cooled bike? The '82 YZ's were water cooled.

I think I read somewhere he preferred the handling and lighter weight of the air cooled machine at the time.

LaPorte was in tremendous form during both heats in Holland.

The factory teams hated the weird handling liquid cooled YZ's in 82 so they went back to a air cooled bike. Hannah rode an air cooled OW250 here in 82 as well. Hard to believe now huh?
